  10. well written, and true we all have the story of the one! cuba 2 years ago while fly casting off the bow into a deep channel my buddy was casting a flourescent red rapala for what ever lurked and a six foot shark hammered it rolled on the surface 10 feet from the boat. snapped his 12 pound test like dental floss. we screamed a few obsenities back and forth holy %#$@ did you see that and replied damm my drag was to tight or i would have landed that. i burst out laffing so hard i almost fell off the casting deck. not a hope in hell of landing it but sure was an exciting few seconds

  17. i work on this bad boy , its a heavy lift construction vessel . our present scope of work is installing and hammering in place oil platform jackets in the mexican waters of the gulf f mexico. the large crane has a lifting capacity of 1,600 tonnes. accomadation of crew members is 296 when maxed out. theres four meals a day on here and the galley never closes 24 hour a day working operations.
  18. after reading your post i am greatfull for today, and my thoughts and prayers for you and your family are there. i must say that her strength and willingness to do battle. this is definetly a big part that and will only help her going forward , giving up is not an option with her i can see. thanks for sharing
  19. here is a bad picture from my nightly smoke break a 100 miles offshore in the gulf of mexico, as i sit and puff away on my marlbough light. this what i get to watch with frustration and dreams of being able to cast a line. unfortunatley it is not allowed to fish from the vessel. as the fishing line gets in the thruster seals and its a multi-million dollar fix. theres hundreds of tarpon out here rolling from dusk till dawn chowing on shrimp and flying fish. i can only dream of belize and nicuragua tarpon.
  20. i have used them in salt water and had a tonne of sucess with them i first bought them in louisiana and the red fish love them. then used them for pargo and snapper in cuba. i have caught a walleye on one in sturgeon lake, the ones i have is like a rapala shape with the same lip as the plastic bait ones. the flash in the water is a great attractant. baarcuda cant resist them but again anything flashy and fast is a barracuda meal.
  21. 21 days down , 21 days to go then home to 6 weeks off wooohoo

  22. i have the automatic oil injection system on my boat, which i have never had before. i have worries about the system breaking down and harming my engine . was considering disconnecting it and mixing the fuel directly into the main tank on board ( 80 gallon) . was wanting some feed back on the pros and cons of this system and any good and or bad experiences you might have had with this system in the past. i have a low oil alarm and it works fine . the other question i have is that i want to put a kicker on the boat is it possible to T off the main fuel line for the motor or do i need to use a separate tank. my concern is that the addition might cause an air back flow from the main engine. i was thinking that some kinda check valve or anti back flow would take care of this. your thoughts and experiences greatly appreciated
