Having spent a year in the Norseman capital of the world, Red Lake, I fell in love with these things Wayne. They were my alarm clock every morning when they flew fishermen out every day at 5:30 am right outside my room window. I was fortunate enough to be there during the Norseman festival, which is the biggest weekend of the year in Red Lake. I think that there was 15 of the 29 in existance there (2010). My only regret was not going for a flight in one of these. I had my chances too. Since there's at least two Norseman fans here, more photos.

 

 

 

The building with the overhang under the left wing (right side of the photo) was where I lived.

Great shots of some old workhorses. Between them, the Bellanca's and various de Havillands, they pretty much opened up the north. Thanks for sharing.
