fishdawg Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 I am thinking about taking my 5 yr old to either one of these upcoming shows. I would like to enhance the experience for him by taking the Go Train in from Burlington. I think going to Sportsmens show at the Ex plays better? Can anyone please make any reccomendations? For the sake of the transit schedule, i think we would be going on the Sat or Sunday. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!
LeXXington Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 My kids, love taking the train almost as much as the show. The sportsman has stuff other than fishing the kids really enjoy the dog shows. I have 2 kids under 10. my $0.02
Acountdeleted Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 Go train is best bet. (Driving in Toronto is scary). Sportsman show has the dog shows which are awesome and the trout pond which is also a lot of fun.
fishdawg Posted January 31, 2013 Author Report Posted January 31, 2013 thanks! I assume the Go train goes to Union, then we'll have to take a connection to the Ex (Direct Energy centre?)
LeXXington Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 thanks! I assume the Go train goes to Union, then we'll have to take a connection to the Ex (Direct Energy centre?) I think you get off at exhibition and just walk.. just don't quote me on that. I still have to look myself
Acountdeleted Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 Yep, go train goes right to the ex. Will save you the walk. Double check just to be sure.
Bondar Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 yup GO train will drop you right on the EX back door , have to walk maybe two minutes
pidge Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 Hey Fishdawg just make sure or maybe someone on here can confirm if theres a return train. In my younger days I remember taking the train to Speedorama or some car show only to come out and no train. Needless to say Pops wasnt impressed with having to pick us up. Just sayin.
hookerdown Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 I took the train from Burlington and Mississauga for years. The Lakeshore West line goes to Union, only a few of the trains will stop at Union during the week, at least during peek times. During the weekend the train will stop at the Ex every hour at the top of the hour (9,10,11...). Check out the Go Transit website for an up to date schedule.
torco Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 Its easy from Burlington and should be a lot of fun. I am planning on taking my kids this year, I have an almost 3 yr old and 10 month old. Likely just me and the oldest going, wish I could take the train from Guelph. Might pop down to burlington just to ride the train since my daughter really loves trains right now.
Crazy Ivan Posted February 1, 2013 Report Posted February 1, 2013 If you go to the Fishing show at the International Center, there is also a Kidsfest in the other hall. We toured the fishing show last year, then had a blast with the kids at Kidsfest. http://www.kids-fest.ca/
