DRIFTER_016 Posted December 27, 2012 Report Share Posted December 27, 2012 Here's a question: have you removed the caps off the battery to check the electrolyte level? Yes even these so called maintenance free batteries need to be checked from time to time. You may find one or more cells are low. Top up with distilled water (can get it at shoppers drugmart). If the levels are ok, pull battery and put on charger then take into Canadian Tire and have them load test it. These steps will rule out battery issues. Looks like I have to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Just wondering what make I should buy. The one that's in my truck is the original. Skipper D Posted December 28, 2012 Report Share Posted December 28, 2012 I put on less then 1000 cranking apm's in every thing we own here , some times you have to modify things to get them in but do it , their well worth it in the end and will out live any 700 cranking amp battery thats in most vehicles out there today . With the truck running, turn on your high beams, blower on high with the defrosters on and let it run for a good 10-15mins. Sometimes it takes some load and time for the alternator to start dropping the voltage down. You could always take it to a shop and get an AVR test done and make sure they check for a draw. Shouldn't cost too much and it might be worth it, just because of the headaches you've been going through. LTF Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
