fishboy Posted July 29, 2012 Report Posted July 29, 2012 I was out last weekend, and the fish are still playing hard-to-get (or at least harder-to-get than usual). The bigger smallies seemed to want topwater baits and tubes twitched just below the surface while only the smaller ones were interested in drop-shot presentations. Fish were mainly coming from 12-20 fow on the edge of sand-weed transitions and drops to deep water. I didn't boat any giants; here's a typical fish.
Lunatic Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 I just got back from haliburton 2 days ago and fishing was tough on our lake. everything caught was small.lost a hammer handle at the boat and the only big bass shook off my crank bait.
Toad Hunter Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 Glad to hear its not just me but not glad to hear it hasn't got any better
Jds63 Posted July 30, 2012 Report Posted July 30, 2012 I'm up at drag lake , and it's smokin hot , have tried lots of different presentations and its been slow, this morning I flicked a giant dock spider into the water off the dock and a nice bass came up and hammered it on the surface ... that was cool
