sconceptor Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 Does anybody use trout beads for ice fishing? I would think they'd be a good attractor for whitefish. Use a glow bead, or natural egg colour, instead of a white pearl on a spreader or just above live bait rig? Heck if it's on fire, maybe even lower down a single bead rigged up with the single egg hook behind it a few inches. Hopefully Simcoe is frozen by February and I might give some beads a try.
BillM Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 People chum with loose roe all the time. I don't see why they wouldn't smash a bead.
Harrison Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 We used plastic and glass beads before for whites, but to be honest we still found pearl their fav. That was quite a few years ago now. I have some Trout beads coming to my shop soon, maybe worth giving it a go again on the ice.
