nofish4me Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) I only recently discovered John Hiatt, while he was singing with another great song writer. Edited July 1, 2010 by Roy
Roy Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 Well thank you muchly, Joe! And for that, here's a little something from one of your Cajun compatriots and probably the best bottlenecker in the world outta SW Louisiana. Sonny Landreth playing with Mark Knopfler. <param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385">
kickingfrog Posted July 1, 2010 Report Posted July 1, 2010 The Globe and Mail had a Canadian music article on their site. Stan Rogers
nofish4me Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 (edited) Northwest Passage always runs a chill down my spine, makes me puff out my chest and swig rum (wife and kids just shake their head). Must be the marine heritage in my blood. Having said that, I'm a born and raised SW Ontario feller, so the "Field Behind the Plow" strikes a strong cord with me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUM8mXJre1c In the previous Ian Tyson/John Hiatt clip they mentioned Alex Carone. Here's a snipet from an article printed in March 2010: "Alex Carone, a Nevada-raised cowboss on the Singleton Ranches has been able to stick close to his buckaroo roots and still respect the puncher way of doing things.". The song reflects an image of the past, but that's the way Alex runs his men and horses. Edited July 2, 2010 by nofish4me

nofish4me Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 (edited) Hahaha, just noticed your tagline (John Prine). I've seen him Live. No kidding, about the fly on the wall. It's not often, someone enjoys my taste in music. Thanks. Removed my rambling on about nothing. Edited July 2, 2010 by nofish4me
