12footspringbok Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 Well after a few years of crappy fishing on georgian bay, and a couple of years of talking about trying lake ontario my dad and i finally tried her out. They were calling for pretty crappy weather for us but i think we got extremely lucky. We stayed at my uncles place in scarborough, and fished july 1st in the evening and july 2nd in the morning. We managed to get three rainbows and one salmon at the 15lb mark. It was a good go and we hope to get down once more hopefully in august. Heres a few pics from the action.
Fisherman Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 And if anyones just a wonderin what the heck that last picture is, that little rainbow was just a bit camera shy and decided on an early release back to the depths...

Last year on Georgian Bay, weather looked good, water rather calm, I paid attention to the marine radio and AM radio, little bit of cracklin, about 10 guys went out, I didn't, 10 sorry dude's that admitted I was was the wise one after that ordeal. Anyway, had a great time.
CLofchik Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 Noice shooting, and good on ya for having respect for the lake. Heh your VHF aerial looks as long as your boat It's a shame what's happening on G'Bay, I can remember what an insane fishery that used to be. Depth, lures any fleas?
tambo Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 I'm just playing, I'm sure you were playing it safe I've heard of a lot of guys giving up on gb and huron. Owen sound harbour is a ghost town. My dad and i have fished the notty religiously for decades, and even tqhe bow run is getting later and later. I didn't even bother fishing last year........spend time hunting partridge instead. From what i've hear, the demise is baitfish related........alewifes disappeard. tambo
12footspringbok Posted July 3, 2009 Author Report Posted July 3, 2009 Depth, lures any fleas? Few fleas not many all fish came 20-60ft down over 130-150.
