Trout Opener Report

Well, my girlfriend and I are in the proces of moving ... we have way too much junk, so we planned a yard sale for this morning (me forgetting about trout opener)... so I comprimised, I would set it up and help her out til about noon, then I could go fishing haha. Not my ideal time, but I didnt do too poorly. I drove about an hour out of town and remembered I forgot worms... woohoo. Lucky for me, I had my vest with pinkies and some select flies.

I landed about 10 fish in the 6-8 inch range and 6 in the 8-11 inch range. I ended up bringing home 4 fish around 8-10 inches, looking forward to cooking them up in a bit!!

 

I caught my first 5 fish on the pinkies, the rest were on an olive wooly bugger.

Worms are good and another lure of choice for me is a Mepps Black Furry #2 in black and yellow.... a real killer up here

good stuff... i got 5-7 minnies like those on saturday.. all on Roe... my buddy didnt get a touch on Pink worm... I also had two good sized bows on but ofcourse one of them broke off when jumping into a log jam and the other one spit the hook Atleast there was Crappie in the afternoon to make up for it
