bushart Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Well after nearly a year of painting the walls of my studio I think I'm finally finished. With my back injury it has been a very long process--a little bit at a time. The theme I went with really relates to my website handle here for 2 reasons---I used to live in the north and growing up "Jeremiah Johnson" was my all time favorite movie. So each wall relates to these items or ideals. If you've seen the movie you can relate. The room started out with a hardbord panelling so you can see the seams. The room is very small maybe 8x7. I will explain how each pic relates. Actually my first pic is a poster I have hanging in my studio--just to keep perspective. Bushart
bushart Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 Of course Jeremiah was a mountain man---note the elk at mtn base for size perspective--also an eagle flies towards that ridge.
bushart Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 Elk at base--actually about an inch and half high
bushart Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 Eagle towards ridge--less than inch long
Jeff R Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 WOW...WOW...and Friggen WOW....Amazing work there...
bushart Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 Jeremiah was attacked by wolves--this is actually painted on a bi-fold closet door--real treat
bushart Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 This shows another corner---treat here is horse's backside goes around the corner 90 degrees--what does'nt kill ya makes you stronger. Native rider in movie was "Paints his Shirt Red" thus the colouring
bushart Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 I used to spend a great deal of time in the bush in NW Ontario--I used to have fun with a pine marten--this is for him
bushart Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 Note horse's backside turning corner and hand in air also falls right in corner. At the end of the movie this was the scene looking for peace
bushart Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 Shot for detail---lots of beadwork around saddle area and furs
bushart Posted April 6, 2008 Author Report Posted April 6, 2008 Final frame here----detail on rider--remember hand goes around the corner I can now go to my happy place when I paint. Thanks Bushart
mikethespike Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 amazing continuity, its like 3d art. love the work on the closet and corner walls.
kitkat Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 Super!! Great! Job, That's my favorite movie as well, and I Love that final scene when they finally make peace!!!! I know how difficult it is to paint in a corner, did a 12ft.x5ft. high mural of a golf course with a popular mountian peak in arizona as a backdrop, what a challenge that was. Always Great to see other artist's work. Looking forward to seeing more.. Fisher Girl
