Deano
I took this pic last month and found this to be a good pic just black and white. The old car and setting gives it the look of the 50's yet it was taken Sept 2007.
brandon
ya that Old car really gives it that added touch......im gonna see what I can come up with in B/W
brandon
best i could come up with for now...... nature shots don't tend to make the best black and white photos.....maybe i'll start takin pics with the intention of making them black and white.......its all a big learning game lol
Deano
That would look cool if the flower itself was the only thing that had color. My son has made a few pics where just the subject is color and the rest is black and white and they look pretty cool.
irishfield
When you are flipping to B/W..is this just selecting "grey scale" in Paint Shop Pro or ??
Deano
I'm using Microsoft picture it, Premuim 10. But most picture programs have black and white, the pics I posted is actually changed to Antique. Grey scale works as also in the colors setting move the slider till all color is removed. Also some camera's have a black and white setting, so the pic can be taken in black and white.

Deano
LOL They look good though, so you don't have to stop. As far as loosing a bit of zaz, it's OK, I lose a bit also, but it keeps the pics original safe, instead of stolen. LOL Here's another one I have

Deano
Excellent B2K, the old tractor helps give it that old picture type, but the clarity is beyond a camera of that era. I think that's what makes Black and White pictures so awesome.
kickingfrog
Here is my B&W submission. Again with a subject more suited to the format. bigfish1965
There's a few good ways to switch to black and white with better results than just desaturating the image. I'll post a few tutorials when I get the chance.
