Deano Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 I took this pic last month and found this to be a good pic just black and white. The old car and setting gives it the look of the 50's yet it was taken Sept 2007.
brandon Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 ya that Old car really gives it that added touch......im gonna see what I can come up with in B/W
brandon Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 best i could come up with for now...... nature shots don't tend to make the best black and white photos.....maybe i'll start takin pics with the intention of making them black and white.......its all a big learning game lol
Deano Posted October 27, 2007 Author Report Posted October 27, 2007 That would look cool if the flower itself was the only thing that had color. My son has made a few pics where just the subject is color and the rest is black and white and they look pretty cool.
irishfield Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 When you are flipping to B/W..is this just selecting "grey scale" in Paint Shop Pro or ??
Deano Posted October 27, 2007 Author Report Posted October 27, 2007 I'm using Microsoft picture it, Premuim 10. But most picture programs have black and white, the pics I posted is actually changed to Antique. Grey scale works as also in the colors setting move the slider till all color is removed. Also some camera's have a black and white setting, so the pic can be taken in black and white.
brandon Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 I use photoshop and I just select Enhance and then Remove Colour.......theres other things you can play around with there too
irishfield Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 Trapper cabin on Florence Lake..south end of Smoothwater/Lady E PPark.
Deano Posted October 27, 2007 Author Report Posted October 27, 2007 Awesome pic Wayne, that's definitely a pic that looks great in B&W.
irishfield Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 It lost a lot of zaz when I had to get it below 250KB...looked really good a 2Meg
irishfield Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 (edited) July storm rolling in on Lake T Edited October 27, 2007 by irishfield
irishfield Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 (edited) I'd better stop after this one .. before I go through all 10,000 or so pics I have on my computer.... lol Edited October 27, 2007 by irishfield
fishindevil Posted October 27, 2007 Report Posted October 27, 2007 Ilove black & white, clear & sharp pics they look amazing
Deano Posted October 27, 2007 Author Report Posted October 27, 2007 LOL They look good though, so you don't have to stop. As far as loosing a bit of zaz, it's OK, I lose a bit also, but it keeps the pics original safe, instead of stolen. LOL Here's another one I have
Deano Posted October 27, 2007 Author Report Posted October 27, 2007 (edited) Here's two more. Edited October 28, 2007 by Deano
irishfield Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 Like the grouse Deano! Lakair this year. Friday fish fry on Tombstone rock.
b2kptbo Posted October 28, 2007 Report Posted October 28, 2007 Tried a couple that might look good in B&W...
Deano Posted October 28, 2007 Author Report Posted October 28, 2007 Excellent B2K, the old tractor helps give it that old picture type, but the clarity is beyond a camera of that era. I think that's what makes Black and White pictures so awesome.
kickingfrog Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 Here is my B&W submission. Again with a subject more suited to the format. Taken during the Canadian National Exhibition at Ontario Place in Toronto. Sept. 2007. P-51 Mustang
bigfish1965 Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 There's a few good ways to switch to black and white with better results than just desaturating the image. I'll post a few tutorials when I get the chance.
