These by-laws are made for a purpose. They get written to cover that purpose. This driveway was made wider at one spot to get around a cable box. The widening really bothers nothing. (as far as I know) The by-law was likely made to keep people from making huge driveways. The way the law is written it is all encompassing and will now cost $400.00 to get around when it was never written for the reason at hand. There should be some attachment to these laws as to why they were made in the first place to make them reviewable and non applicable in certain instances. Discresion of the by-law officer or whatever. I know this opens a whole other can of worms, but darnit, its our country, our city, we pay the taxes and should get something for it. Not just treated like a piece of crap and told it will cost us money every time we need an explanation as to why were are being ripped off. And comments like, "well you should have checked in the first place", just drive it deeper. Checked in the first place about what...jogging a driveway 1' around a cable box...come on.

We were back in the bush above Wawa years ago with a severly overloaded trailed. The azle caught a rock in the middle of the road and bent about 15 degrees. I could see the wheels wobbling in my mirror. We hooked a comealong to the axle and winch post and cranked and beat the axle with an axe and cranked some more and beat some more till we got it straight. Drove 200 miles like that. When we unloaded the springs looked like gull wings. Took the comealong off and the axle seemed to stay straight. I ran it like that for another 10 years before I changed the axle and springs. Just didn't overload it anymore

I use them for the lure change ease and line twist. If I'm towing a rapala or something that will have impared action, I tie a mono leader on and make a loop to hook to the snap swivel. It stays tied to the rapala permanently
