I tell ya, I can go for this afternoon fishing, lol. 5am is totally overrated.

I toiled with this question for many years...until I simply came up with my solution. 80lbs thrust stern mount trolling motor. Obviously you think to use the trolling motor to propel forward....I rarely use it for that (unless the water if completely flat, with no wind). I generally use it in reverse, to slow down my outboard....often this means the trolling motor is at 15% or so. That way you don't kill your batteries. You can see it in this photo. On this day the lake was completely flat, so I was using it as my main propulsion forward... .I also use it to help with incremental speed increases as well. Sometimes the motors get finicky, and you want to increase by 0.2mph or similar...I use this motor to get me moving ever so slightly faster. If I'm not bass fishing, I'm usually trolling. I won't go without my electric after learning how beneficial they can be.

As the Kings slowly (and I mean slooooowly) trickle in, the crowds are building much quicker than the volume of fish is. I took the day off work, dropped the wife off at work for 8am, then headed down to Jordan. Launched by 8:45 am and by noon I hadn't moved a rod, next to three coho that were the size of the bomber long A I was pulling. At noon I had to make a decision, continue to work the water with the 50 other boats, maybe for one or two fish, or pull the boat and move to a different port. Heading back home I veered off the QEW and launched. With only four trailers in the lot, I knew the lake would be quieter. No idea what the water colour would be like, but it had to better than the ole skunk I had out of Jordan. Went out of port and found slightly colder (46 degrees instead of 49 degrees at Jordan), and little colour. I headed in tight, set up a long line pulling a ripplin redfin, and a inline pulling a bomber long A. Spent the next 6 hours having a blast, fishing solo, and pounding on browns and lakers. Using light bass tackle, fishing shallow water, is my favourite thing to do on Lake Ontario. Best part was, it was the middle of the afternoon. Sun was shining. Lake was flat. What a way to enjoy a beautiful spring day. Couple true double headers. Last fish of the afternoon. Snaky Laker. T Shirts and Sandals in April. Woohoo!!

Question for the Hyunadi and KIA drivers launching boats

Regarding the beamer comment earlier in this thread, a BMW 3 series is barely a BMW these days. when you buy a 3 series beamer, you're buying the name, not BMW quality. -
musta been tough to guide that big boat through the rocks.... bad parking job however.

has Dion started his "tell all" yet?

oh, and it really bothers me that you think I "follow" the freethought project or cop block. i'm not sure what either of those even are. I read all news sources. the ones that discuss the planting of evidence are sources like nytimes and the mirror (UK). here's a simple picture...cause we know its easier to follow pictures than words.....it should help you understand what you are trying to protect. and no, nothing from freethought or cop block.... I said it before, and I'll say it again....blue blood runs thick. any professional worth a dime would see what was done and try and apologize for their "own" and advise that the actions of a bad few don't represent many...but that isn't what you did.... instead you suggest planting evidence was only seen by someone with a tinfoil hat on.... I guess we can see who REALLY needs to have some "free thought" of their own!!!
-
again, keep telling yourself that. whatever lets you sleep at night. blue blood runs thick and strong no doubt....but blue blood is not as strong as the public in which they are hired to protect. now the blues get to think twice before they do anything..."little brother is watching".
-
just keep telling yourself that. no longer are cops watching over society. now society is watching over society ... cops can go back to administering the law, not creating it as they feel fit.

Replacing boat floor... Progress report
Steve replied to mike rousseau's topic in General Discussion
do it right. $100 is nothing if your planning on keeping the boat for another 10 years. -
i'm glad the media is showing true video's...whether that be their own, or a by standards cell video. we all just finished watching cops murdering, then planting evidence on a dead body (after hand cuffing the dead body), then having all the blue bloods lie on their reports to cover up for their fellow blue blood. we didn't get video of Michael Browns murder....if we did, lots of protest would have been avoided, and Darren Wilson would be in jail. cops and government place CCTV camera's all over the place, all in the name of public safety. its time to start following the cops with cctv... all in the name of public safety. how many times have we heard "don't worry, if you don't have anything to hide, then you shouldn't worry about the cops...." now we get to say the same thing to them.... "don't worry mr copper, if you don't have anything to hide, you shouldn't have anything to worry about..." irony at its finest. Big Brother was once watching us. Now Little Brother is watching everyone. And for that, I feel safer.

Health Canada has concluded there are no health risks associated with wind turbines (and there never were any claimed to be associated with solar farms). http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/ewh-semt/noise-bruit/turbine-eoliennes/index-eng.php

i have power pro backing (and maybe even some old fins prt) on old leadcore reels that must be approaching 10 years old.... believe it or not, it still works just fine...i use that leadcore for kings and trout each year, as well as walleye...never have an issue with the line.... now, with that said, I don't cast with that line.... but as far as backing goes, it seems to last forever.

I work in the green energy industry. My eyes are wide open.

how do they troll? i'm not sure if I understand the concept of a count down on a trolling pattern. i'm assuming the slower you troll, the deeper they go?

lunkerville is a great show! -
great game last night.... arena was bouncin'. tons of fun!!!

remember, electricity has to come from a source...and many are not "clean". the cost to create electricity is not often cheap. As a result, some of this "green thinking" in these cars is just cloaking the truth. if you pump electricity into a car that was created by a fossil fuel you're no further ahead than using gasoline. the batteries aren't the cleanest for compost either. While we work to improve technology we are also finding better ways to generate more efficient green energy.

a very close friend of mine owns a resort on 12 mile lake....right on a snowmobile trail.... it helps....a bit....but certainly not enough to make the winter profitable.

quinte is the money location. almost 12 months a year rentals. Kawartha's are much tougher.

I'm very sorry to hear about this. My trip to Lakair was in 2004. I just bought my new to me 17' boat. I was used to a canoe. My first real trip in the boat was at Lakair. Kevin walked me through my entire boat, what to keep an eye out for, what to maintain. Then of course he went over a basic map to let me know where all the rocks were.... So out I go, get stuck on a rock, directly in front of camp. Kevin was on shore smiling and laughing. I'll always remember that RIP kind Sir.
