  1. There comes a time when the blind man takes your hand and says "Don't you see"?
  2. Depending on when and how you use your motor, have a drive down to the Niagara River in any January or February and have a look at what the majority of the boats are running.... If you don't go with the Yamaha, go with the Suzzy.
  3. hmmm...will this be worth starting a facebook account for I bet it would be. Is it possible yet to delete a facebook account? (or just inactivate it?)
  4. Provincially, the only people I know who voted libs were folks getting paid by the libs by working for them. I cringed on my provincial ballot when I checked Conservative....but reminded myself (and continue to this day) that federal and provincial politics differs greatly. But we have a tremendous amount of public servants in this province, the majority of which are teachers, who will ensure the Libs remain in power.
  5. Thankfully some sense on this thread. No way is it safe to have an under powered boat. All I'm saying is, you shouldn't be allowed to sell an un-safe boat. Yes Chris, you don't believe there is such a thing...but the rest of the boating world knows differently. Hopefully worm dangler will heed the advice of the majority and buy a boat that has a proper motor to push it....even if it is used. I bought my 1998 Lund with 1999 Yamaha in 2004. I still have the boat today. Hasn't left me stranded anywhere....not even once. But I was smart enough to buy a Lund / Yamaha combo. Had I bought a new Legend / Tracker with an under powered Merc (cause that is the cheapest motor to offer) I surely wouldn't be using the same boat today...not a chance.
  6. when you can't plane you plow water, burn extra gas, and depending on the body of water, could put yourself in a serious situation. a boat should be equipment with an motor designed for it.... if a 16' boat is designed for a 40hp motor, it should be illegal to offer a 15hp motor on it. Now, if someone wants to buy a 15hp motor, and add it to the boat, so be it.... But you know the folks buying 16' side console boats with 15hp motors simply don't know any better.... you would be hard pressed to find a Lund, Princecraft, Crestliner, etc offering packages with outboards rated at 33% of the hp rating.
  7. I don't know how it is even legal for Legend to sell that boat in that shape. It would not be safe on the water...would not be able to plane.... I know there is a certain legend sponsored angler on this board who will defend legend for putting drastically under powered motors on their boats...but do consider the source. that boat should have a 30hp as a "minimum" with a 40hp as a option. I believe it should illegal for a boat manufacturer to package a boat and motor option with the motor less than 75% of the recommended hp.
  8. Don't buy a legend or tracker if you're going to fish in any type of rough water. BUT if your only using it on small cottage lakes, I'm sure it would be great for your needs. Legend and Tracker are both famous for under powering their packaged boats...if an informed buyer looks at the cost of upgrading to a proper sized motor, than the price quickly becomes the same as a Lund, Alumicraft, Lowe, Princecraft, Crestliner, etc. One thing I always tell folks is a legend or tracker on the water (so long as it is still floating) is better than standing on shore.
  9. minds are changing every day. If I could only pull up a thread from circa 2003ish where I generated a discussion about smoking while fishing.... At that time, I was one of only three people who supported anything related to the green plant. I clearly remember many folks then, who appear to support it now (or at least not against it), vehemently against anything to do with the devil plant. It's absolutely awesome reading the same folks, 10 years later, stating "although I don't smoke it, I don't see what is wrong with it".... Amazing. And it occurred simply by discussing it. People are opening their minds. Discussion is a good thing. When you respond with facts, most run and hide.
  10. if the ACC held 54K seats, it would still be filled every game. in fact, I'd love to see how big of a stadium the leafs could fill on a nightly basis. I'm guessing 70K per game would be do-able...especially if they structure their ticket prices like the jays do....I mean, you can buy a jays ticket cheaper than it costs to park in Toronto.
  11. we'll see how much all the hard core blue jays fans support the team when they are crap again.... man I was tired of all the verbal diarrhea spewed from jays fans when they were running through the playoffs..... "jays fans are the best, blah, blah, blah...leafs fan suck, blah, blah, blah"..... we'll see an empty stadium again this year, I'm sure of it.
  12. all 3rd hand knowledge. just freaking legalize it already :)
  13. dry it. freezer pack it (using one of those fancy food sealers). most folks I know don't use any form of refined bud (ie, hash, oil, shatter, etc, etc, etc).
  14. I bet the charges stick. Cops are really sticky when it comes to drinking and operating a motor vehicle.... I hope they drop them...but I doubt it.
  15. folks I know, running the "5 plant setup" are cropping 3lbs'ish every 10 weeks. these folks all used to run 60 to 80 plant setups....but changed based on the new laws.... when you don't charge based on number of "lights", rather number of "plants", growers can easily circumvent the stupid laws.
  16. 2 ounce a month, or a half ounce a week, is something that many of my "non medical" friends put down without issue. that is only 2 grams a day.
  17. my post above is based on 10 week cycles....or so I've heard
  18. depends on if your running a hydroponic setup, using cubes (so one small single bud plant) or if your running big pots. someone I know went from growing 80 plants to 5 plants - same yield. lights determine yield, not plants. but just to answer your question, you can get as much as 1/2lbs off a single plant if grown properly under the right conditions.
  19. I got the same response. "we don't care about your silly pardon, this is the US of A". However, if you get a lawyer, and fill out your forms correctly, they won't deny your waiver application. The person you are referring to either used a "non laywer' (ie, Canadian Pardon Services), or tried on their own. My waiver cost me about $1,200 from the lawyer and another $800 for the waiver. But it is guaranteed. Tell you friend to go to an immigration lawyer who specializes in cross border.
  20. I would just like to personally thank Dutch01 for his logical, patient, and informed replies. Something this board lacks dearly. Your patience with the "short replies" that don't provide any facts, just rhetoric, is amazing. I don't know what you do for a job, but I'm guessing you deal with a lot of this in real life. Each time I read a ridiculous reply, you have already rebutted with a well thought out, informative post....allowing me to take a breath and remind myself it's generally those in a minority position who bark the loudest. I truly appreciate your posts and look forward to reading them in the future.....If your ever in the Hamilton area, and want a spot on the boat, let me know. I'd gladly share a day on the water....it's the least you deserve.
  21. ahhhh the good ole I-192 waiver. bugger yankee's!!!!
  22. Bush, lol. Don't know what more to say about that.
  23. Don't be upset. I wasn't upset "at" my friend when he died in his Kayak a cold November day many years ago (Lake Ontario). We all take precautions on a daily basis. Sometimes it just doesn't work out.
  24. darkwater, as someone who has a seizure disorder, and could easily get his green card, I thank you whole heatedly for what you are doing. I would only get my green card if my employer decided to start drug testing..but considering my last seizure was in the office, I don't foresee my company having the balls to do that.
  25. good stuff. dragging that ditch always produces through the winter.
