no, that is the direct cost to purchase nuclear power. however, the indirect cost includes the cost the government is contracted to purchase, due to minimum purchase requirements, which isn't actually used, but paid for. to my knowledge the 5.2c price is a fixed price, based on a minimum purchase requirement, contracted under a power purchase agreement. cheers,

no problem. Green energy isn't perfect. certainly not. but there is so much false information floating around out there.....it can be tough to wade through the bias. many folk are against green energy as it generates power without the use of highly paid operators....as such, you have very large unions, with lots of dollars, posting a lot of misinformation.

Hamilton Bassmasters swap meet, who's going?

that was a retail price in package, or for a used lure? -
re-reading your post Cliff it appears you may believe the construction costs of these wind farms and solar farms are paid by the government (and thus, us, the tax payer). That isn't the case. 100% of the cost of development is private dollars. The government than purchases the power (at the prices in the link above). That is where you and I, the tax payer come in. So if your technically AGAINST green energy, you should be applauding the sites where the turbines sit idle...as the cost then is "zero" to the tax payer. Of course, the only reason they sit idle is either two reasons. 1) the entire site is still under construction (which means they are the commissioning phase of development), or 2) the turbine is under maintenance / repair. Either of those options mean power isn't being supplied to the grid, therefore, tax payers aren't paying for the power. Wind Energy is the cheapest form of renewable energy purchased by the tax payer (as show in the link above).

on shore means on land big cliff. ie, not in the water. read the link to see the solar power amount paid per KW/h. and no, if the blades aren't turning, it isn't costing tax payers a dollar. these are privately built farms, so if the blades aren't turning, the private operator isn't receiving money. oh, a wind mill "mills grain", you are looking for info on wind turbines, that generate electricity. hope this helps clarify some of your questions Cliff.

http://fit.powerauthority.on.ca/fit-program/fit-program-pricing/fit-price-schedule I know there are TONS of misinformation out there...and I mean tons....A buck per KWH has never ever been paid ... not even FIT 1.0 when cost to install was 3.5 x's what it is now. Anyway, wind is paying 12.8c a KW/h. We pay 13.6c a KW/h for subsidized nuclear power. So we purchase wind power cheaper than nuclear power. Hope this helps clear up some of the misinformation out there.

they were... they dropped almost 4 degrees over last week... previous weekends were much more productive.

when the mudline extends way out, I find the fishing gets VERY tough.... do you work the outside mudline (it might be in 30' of water....too deep). do you work the shallows where the mud extends through it all.....very much needle in a haystack fishing.... you are correct - it won't be "easy" fishing tomorrow/sunday. wide wobbling baits and dark coloured baits (in the mud dark shows up better than bright) and use the rattles.... hopefully the water temps didn't drop too much....they were 42 last weekend...if they dropped to the mid 30's, combined with the mud....well....still better than being at home

Is a vehicle lost through the ice covered by Insurance?
Steve replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
I'm not in auto insurance, so I can't say 100% the reason. last time this question came up, I went to the auto dept and asked them this question. I was advised that if the vehicle was moving, and it went through the ice, collision coverage would be required to claim under. I was further advised that if the vehicle was parked, and went through the ice, comprehensive coverage would be required to claim under. Although the auto policy is a statutory wording that all companies use, each company has their own way of adjusting claims. -
Some people are very in tune with their body. Something tells me he knew many years ago something "just wasn't right" .... and lived his life differently as a result. RIP Mr Ford.

remember, not all companies provide the same coverage. each policy can differ from one another. also, to further complicate things, brokers can provide incorrect information, and a broker does not determine claim coverage or payout.... which is why to keep the confirmations from the broker in writing. the company I work for looks at whether you are moving on the ice, or parked on the ice, when the vehicle goes through...it makes a difference. -

when I'm asked this question, or any other, I always respond in the same way. ask your broker and get an answer in writing. good advice. -
I use a 7'6" mag light loomis IMX Hot Shotting rod for casting flatfish and small spinners (#2 and #3). I have that paired with a 4000 Ci4 stradic...i need the big reel as we catch lake bows, browns, and small kings that will take 200' in a second....with it being the lake (not piers, but beach shorelines) the fish have full access to run. I think it I was going to hit "big" rivers ('geen, niagara, dalhousie, bronte, etc) I would throw on a Sustain FE 3000, as I wouldn't need the 4000 sized reel. Either way, the G Loomis IMX HSR 9000S works as a super nice light bait throwing rod, whether river or lake... (this is not a casting 3/4 ounce pier cleo rod....just to clarify) Loomis describes this road as: When you're looking for a really good spinning rod for steelhead, silvers and other small salmon, this is an excellent choice. It's got a lot of power with our magnum taper design and the tip is light enough to cast spinners, spoons or crankbaits. It is very popular for light-duty saltwater use, fishing jigs, spinnerbaits and spoons for redfish, bonefish and permit. IMX makes it surprisingly light considering how powerful this rod is and it's extremely versatile. There's probably nothing you can't do with it except maybe cast a fly.

A Maintenace tip for transducers/ almost NF
Steve replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
Sinker, transducers absolutely have a lifetime...i'd wager anything older than four/five years (or much less with heavy towing) would be a transducers max. And definitely lowrance transducers seem to lose their power quicker than hbird transducers. A good friend of mine just had to replace his transducer on this hds7. He bought it the first year they came out....what was that, about four/five years ago? -
Calendars really work well. In 2011 I ensured I caught one good fish from every month of the year.... than put it together for a 2012 calendar and had it printed out at a proper print shop.... It turned out awesome, and it garnered much interest.

89,956,333 I will say, for the size of this site, and the traffic it gets, it is a helluva well run site, with good folks....with even better intentions.... I see this site as a meeting place to shoot the breeze with like minded outdoors folk.... May not always be outdoors related, but there is the common foundation of interest - the outdoors. -
A Maintenace tip for transducers/ almost NF
Steve replied to Old Ironmaker's topic in General Discussion
you will find that the debris on the road will never destroy your transducer....just slightly weaken the power of the transducer over time... so after a few years, you think everything is working properly....but one day you think to yourself "gee, I don't see my rigger balls like I used to on this finder..." and attribute it to blow back or something else.... than one day you have a friend who has the same, or similar unit to you, but brand new. You say hey, can I throw my head unit on your boat and all of a sudden your unit is marking tons more than what it marked on your boat..... transducer is the culprit...its only operating at 60% of its strength..... not easy to notice unless you fish in a way that marks a constant...like rigger balls. -
no need to be on the lake at 7am for browns, lol. :)

that could have been me. would have been heading north on the red hill parkway, towing my lund, around 9am'ish.
