Hey folks I recently picked up a digital camera, finally got sick of seeing my pics months after when they got developed. Anyhow I find the cold weather effects the performance (read: doesnt turn on) Anyone have any tips to keep things running smoothly in colder weather. Last weekend I tried keeping it in an inner pocket but it still success was minimal. thanks for any help

beauty fish jeff. We'll have to get out after them again soon. How deep were you fishing there?

I took a drive out to belwood this morning and fished from 8 til noon. Around 11 the set line went off and yielded a pike of monumental proportions then I put the binoculars down and saw it was 18". Close to noon the wind picked right up and made it a trial so packed up and headed to a bar. Ice there was 6-8" and solid. Conservation area had plenty of minnows etc.

After some crappy driving conditions we met up with jeffw in minden and headed to a small lake up hwy35. Jeff caught 2 nice splake about 16" and my buddy caught another, on spoons tipped with minnows. Personally I have a new white stripe on the back of my floater suit. Lots of hits throughout the day, last few trips out seems that noon is the active time. Despite the snow it was a great day to be out.

Great job by Rick and OOD. With more and more publicity these problems will come to a head sooner than later.

Ice is safe up there my buddies have had sleds on the lakes for 2 weeks now. Sil has always been better early in the year than robertson for me. but i know some nice fish have came out of there. luck

Great pics/story. One of the bonuses of chasing brook trout is it takes you to some of the nicest country in Ontario.

I was surprised to find the university closed after I walked there and doors were locked. That revelation made today a lure making day by default.

I used to go to the grand to wash my lures off but then these darn bass kept on hitting them...like the other folks said walk a piece from the access points.

Ya it was a great day to be out for sure. Early wake up and met up with Jeff in Minden. I had to dig the gad out of the hole that splake took it so hard. There was a big difference in the ice from first thing this morning to the afternoon when the sun had hit it. The walk back to the road was fun. Thanks again Jeff for the great day on the slush.

Your school library should subcribe to online journals like Journal of Wildlife Disease. Do a search on there. Or look up the general ecological info on viruses it will be similar for the classes of viruses

Ive had pretty good luck carrying minnows in those coleman insulated water jugs like 2L. not too heavy for long walks.

No way its that easy the dumb gene seems to be wide spread especially prevalent in association with the internal combustion engine. you'd think putting a sled through the ice is cheap the way some folks do it.

Grab a stocking list from the MNR and look for a lake that is stocked frequently in the last few years...smaller fish but more. Also the further you're willing to walk the better chance you'll have. tough to get the name of a speck lake outta most folks

Andrew (Pooch) was good enough to take me out on his boat yesterday. We trolled from about 10:30am til 5pm. The fish got to see a pretty good selection of lures. When it was time to call it quits I was reeling the lure in after unclipping the board and this walleye hit feet from the boat. 24.5 x 15. not a bad first BOQ walleye. The weather was great and it was good to be on the water

make sure you grab a stick to help you walk out if you wade its pretty fast especially the other side of the wall. some good runs inside the wall but the best is beyond it. never had luck on floats always 3way rigs. best of luck
