To bad I didn't know back in September Cliff when I tossed a self propelled reel type lawn mower with a 5 horse Briggs & Stratton (running condition). The blades needed a good sharpening and the roller bar (?) needed some mending but other wise a functioning mower. I'd had it for several years and couldn't give it away?

....Geeeez I'd think Dan would be all over this. I can give you a little info Drew as I've been there once, definitely going back though. Buck tail jigs, definitely a must for brookies, tie them in muddler fashion. In fact I'll be taking a fly rod next time with an ample supply of muddlers and streamer paterns. Natural patterns are tops but I think some flashier ones may turn them on when they're somewhat neutral. Lakers were very pentiful but were also deep, take riggers if you can. Large flashy spoons were the ticket over body baits. Pike, well they are there and some real brutes! We didn't target them but I'm guessing standard pike baits (lures) would do the trick. We often spotted/encountered them any time we saw weeds which were sparesly scattered in the shallower shoal and shore areas. Nipigon is truly a gem and one trip there is certainly has left me itching to get back. Let me know when and where you'll be going. Perhaps I can time my late summer trip to coincide with yours and we can converse over a few wobbly pops.

....Interesting concept but I think grossly under powered for our clime. I'm thinking four wheel drive would also be a must and of course you'll always need a partner to step out and hook up the winch on those occasions when you bust through.

Well there you go they've changed the board rules and no one told me. I see now that if you are passionate about something it's okay to respond to a post by breaking the several rules as opposed to responding intelligently. Oh decisions, decisions. Let it stay, remove the thread or just and individual post. Perhaps I should lock it up? Maybe I should post my personal thoughts on this invasive, undesirable, destructive intruder from Europe or my experiences catching them.
