  1. That's exactly what I meant !!!

  3. Awesome thanks!! Bill
  4. Thanks for the advice guys the rod is a shimano Clarus. I like the idea of using it for a trolling rod. I believe it's rates for 2-6 lb line. What would the rod be able to handle now?
  5. It's 7 foot that lost the top 9". I bought it this year for crappie as I've never owned an ultra light and wanted to experience the difference. So if its not going to perform the same maybe ill just scrap it.
  6. Hey all! Just a quick question. I recently had a door shut on my new ultra light rod and it broke two guides down from the top so it's not a case of repairing the tip only. Is it worth trying to fix it or is it a write off?? Thanks Bill
  7. I usually bottom bounce with crawler harnesses. That being said I haven't hit any walleye do far this spring!
  8. There are some closed spots along FE but ud have to check exact dates and locations with mnr. There is no slot and 6 fish limit if that helps
  9. Was wondering the same. Warmer waters and chasing bait fish possibly?
  10. That's the first tiger I've seen other than on a chart. Beautiful fish! Good work
  11. Beauty pike and Wally's!! Always look forward to reading your reports. Well done!
  12. Thanks guys. I was wondering if I was doing something wrong. With the boat docked in the upper Niagara, western basin isn't an option at the moment. Keep on trying I guess! Thanks for everyones input. Bill
  13. Hey guys!! just wondering how other members are making out on Lake Erie for walleye?? Spent a few evenings trolling, bottom bouncing with crawler harnesses and have been skunked every time out. Just wondering if anyone else has had any luck? I'm fishing 40-50 fow out from pt abino. Thanks Bill
  14. Upper Niagara has good fishing for silver bass and good sized perch from shore around Nichols Marine. Scoop your minnows from shore and fish away. Most guys use pickeral rigs and 1/2 ounce bell sinkers, myself included. Had great luck there
  15. Nice haul! I was out with my pops yesterday but only managed a few small ones. Hoping to get out early next week:)
  16. Now I'm aware that many people depend on nip for their living and many if us enjoy it for recreation. What about a ban on Pickerel altogether? Catch and release for a determined amount of time. I'm not too sure how long it takes for a species to regenerate but after spending a good amount of time on simcoe this winter it sure seems to have worked for the Cisco. It will be a bitter pill to swallow for many of us but it allows a natural strain to regenerate and helps the fishery survive for many years to come. I believe it took almost a decade for Cisco numbers to return. Correct me if I'm wrong. Bill
  17. Forgive me all, but what happened? I haven't been around for a little while. Bill
  18. Welcome! I'm sure you'll enjoy the site! Bill
  19. Always hit the west side but if you read the reports from the park, the lake is very productive. Good luck
  20. Just got back from picton. Spent the weekend there. Marked lots but managed only one pike out front of the cement plant. Heard of a few eyes 9 + lbs but not a lot of numbers. Good luck and looking forward to your post. Bill
  21. I got one as well. My buddy said everyone parked there got one. Btw one pike for us over 2 days of fishing.
  22. I know we do t know each other but in this time of loss my heart goes out to you and your family. May your mother rest in peace and your family find comfort in these days. My condolences Bill
  23. Went up to the park with my son two weeks ago. Colors were brilliant. For the first time we hiked the Centennial Ridges trail. It didn't disappoint as it brought us to half dozen scenic lookouts. That being said I have always loved and continue to love the Mizzy Lake trail. Not as physically demanding as C.R. Trail and it visits some spectacular wetlands and offers excellent wildlife. As for the Muskie I don't fish for them and haven't heard of them in the park, at least the areas I have visited. Bill
