  1. Stunning pictures and video! Thanks for sharing those.
  2. Do a search on “I want a bigger boat” and then do “I want a smaller boat”. And there ya go. You’re welcome, I just saved you the value of 2 years depreciation on the 1875 😁
  3. Any of those boats are fantastic so there’s no one clear winner based on the limited details in your post. How you fish, where you fish, tow vehicle, budget, etc etc. There’s lots to consider. If you’re fishing the Great Lakes one weekend but want to do a family vacation on a small lake the next you’ll need something that’s easier to manoeuvre. As far as launching goes, other than wind or current making it tricky, you should be able to handle any of those on your own. IMO it’s more about getting good at it than it is the boat size. Watch guys at any launch on a Saturday and you can literally pick out the guys that know their stuff vs what boat they have. I’d spend time checking out the layouts as well. That will play a big part in how much you enjoy fishing from the boat later. Good luck and have fun shopping.
  4. Beautiful boat Irish. I need one of those and my bassboat! Lol
  5. I wouldn’t heat it up. Two reasons: the aluminum will conduct the heat very quickly and it’s going through bushings that are most likely plastic? And, that aluminum will have a T6 condition which is a hardening spec for aluminum. If you heat it up enough to bend it, you’ll remove the T6 and I guarantee it’ll bend again but easier. I’d support it well and cold bend it enough to get it out then replace. Use a decent aluminum grade and don’t buy on price alone.
  6. I’d give the battery a good solid charge with a 10amp charger. I’m not a fan of the trickle charge units during the season.
  7. Pure luck Brian. It was a strange day for sure, topped off nicely by big smallies and a limit of walleye. The ONLY bright side! LOL No fish and no snag. Just a black and yellow knee for my troubles!
  8. So I put down my rod for a second to grab a Plano box from a front compartment in the boat and POOF it’s gone! I Make a quick grab for it but watch as it does a slow sink in 20 FOW. With nothing to lose I fire a tube jig just beyond it and let it drop. Not the ideal “great at hooking crap” lure but hey, no time to mess around. Freakishly, I hooked my rod through the first eye and got it back! Lol One a bazillion there. So other than a really sore knee from smacking it on the dive to save the rod I’m pretty darn happy...what a great day. Until I look down. Explains the knee pain. Win some, ya lose some. Ordered parts from Shimano and I’m good to go!
  9. I've noticed a dramatic ~change to Erie over the last few years. I have old waypoints in ~30 FOW for smallies that are now great walleye spots. A couple weeks ago I was 50-50 bass and walleye in one area. This is surprising because 2-7 years ago I would fish an entire season and not catch a single walleye. The bass that are competing with the walleye on these spots are big too! My first 5 smallies that day there was none under 4.5.
  10. Regardless of the bowfishing aspect, the language leads me to think their double wide was just out of camera range.
  11. Nice. My seats are mounted to a fibreglass frame directly above the fuel tanks. I’d have to strip off the seating material and modify the frame to accept the new seats. Hmmm Just the skins are $500USD from Ranger.
  12. One “I love Canada” and you’re outta gas!!! ⛽️
  13. Hey Art, what seats did you put in your boat? I have a 487VS and considering just ordering new skins from Ranger. I have the same issue with added weight due to upgrading the boat. I have 4 batteries across the back and wish I could go to a 250hp! Love the hull though.
  14. Musky Plug, there's a bunch of info on this thread that will just confuse you because it's unrelated to your issue. Verify your tach is correct, verify your prop is good, verify the motor is mounted at a good height for your boat, make sure you're not overloaded (|I don't think you are because you come up on plane well), inspect the hull for any obvious deformities. If all is reasonably good, start tweaking your prop specs. There's a ton of boats like yours out there, ask to meet up with someone to test their prop? Most guys are willing to help! I've borrowed and loaned out my props before.
  15. The picture is becoming clearer now lol!!
  16. The OP is running at close to 75% of what that boat/motor combination "should" be doing. Switching to stainless on a 90hp will help a tiny bit but in my opinion it's not worth the cost and it's not the root cause. I'd work on solving the 20% then if he's ambitious enough, worry about the last couple mph.
  17. Call Peter's Tackle in St. Catharines. They cater to the trout/river crowd and there's not much they don't have.
  18. That is shocking considering a 115 would be under-powered on an 18' boat. The 320 and 325 Comanche boats were rated for 115hp but were under 16' in length. The 18' 350 Comanche was rated for 175hp.
  19. OK, then you're right there. Any one change to the prop will cause you to either over or under rev. I'm guessing your gear ratio is ~2.25 on that motor so that puts you at a theoretical 39 mph with no slip(not possible). I'd seriously consider trying a brand new 14x17 so you have a solid baseline you can trust. If the results are the same, I'd increase the diameter 1/4" and see what that does for you. Don't change more than one thing at a time or you'll get lost trying to figure it out.Remember that if you decide to try a 4 blade (increases surface area to reduce slipage), you will need to drop down in pitch by 1-2 inches...start at 1 so 16".
  20. What is the recommended WOT rpm for your outboard? You're at 5500 now. For each one change to pitch you can expect a rise or fall in your rpm by around 200 rpm. I'd look at increasing diameter before changing the pitch since your holeshot seems to be fine. 1/4" diameter change also = 200 rpm
  21. I think this is a bit inflated. Group 31 deep cycle wet cells runs around 70lbs and group 27's slightly less. I do remember the discontinued Sears Platinum was a beast at about 85lbs. I have 4 batteries in my boat and even at +60lbs each I wish I could go to lithium but $$$$$$$$$$$$.
  22. That 14x17 prop is a good mid range prop for that set up. The issue is, with your numbers you’re running at about 22% prop slip. I’d buy another prop from a dealer that will let you return it if it doesn’t solve the problem. What is your hole shot like?? Does it come up on plane quickly?
