Wow Cliff! I'm really taken back with the news! We spoke a few times after you hired this guy and I assumed everything was hunky dory. Somedays you really have to check for the knife in the back because you can't always feel a sharp highly honed edge jabbing into you. Just look at the bright side, there is one really, but you just have to find it. Maybe he will get his justise one day, they usualy do. I wish you luck and sweet revenge

Wow! I hope that they can do something for you to help restore more of your eyesight. It is coming along so that is a good sign. Maybe this coming fishing season you will be a little more comfortable and can do better with your casting. I wish you all the best. Take care, Harry

Thanks for the good wishes. Surgery went ahead and the Doc says the all looks OK. It does look though that my vision is not as clear as it was after the first one was done. He says though that it will get better. I will probably require some additional laser work to be done as I see some things double through the first one that was done first, he will wait to find out how the second eye heals. I wish you a fast recovery so you can get back to I don't know what will be worse? The broken leg or having to deal woth our legal system. One is probably just as painful as the other. Good luck with both.

If some of you remember I made a post about my cataract operation about 2 weeks ago. Today it's back to the O.R to get my right eye taken care of, unbelievably fast at getting back in! The hospital(s) have received some additional funds to move these proceedures along quicker. When all this trouble began I was told to expect about a 6 month wait to get the my right eye cataract removed. I was very reluctant with going ahead with the first operation because of this, so I put it off for about a year and my wait payed off. The problem is that my vision is so poor that there is a great difference between both eyes now. After the operation the left eye (repaired one) now has near 20/20 vision! My right eye is still something like -11, wich is very bad. So I see double at times or half the world is fogged over and the other half clear or all kinds of strange things happen. In fact about 3 years ago I had a retinal detachment in the left eye and unfortunately 2 weeks after that happened I had a chance to work at Casino Niagara but failed the medical exam partly because I only had 40% eyesight in that eye. The eye sureon is amazed at such an improvement! Last week I tried driving in the dark, forget it, every car coming at me had a twin right alongside of it up on the shoulder! Daytime driving is better although not that good. Since my work involves driving I have taken the shotgun seat and haven't been to work since this all began. The bright side is that next week I have 2 job interviews to look forward to! I know that one of them is a give in, the other is pretty much a done deal too as it is my 2nd time in to talk to them and this time is with one of the owners. So lots of things will be new! New eyes, a new year and a new job! I'm re-born at 50! Thanks for listening OFNers!

I think a lot of us are in the same "boat" when it comes to boat shows, sportsman show, fishing show, CNE or whatever. We have become de-senitised to them, youv'e seen one boat show (or whatever) and you have pretty much seen them all. It is only if you are in the market to make a purchase that it is then of some interest. After all, it is the buyers the vendors are after, not the lurkers like you or me out killing time and looking for some entertainment, and there are alot of us. True you or I may be a buyer, but we are usually not there to take out a 2nd mortgage on the farm. I went through this conversation at work in the past year when the boss booked 3 home shows. He claimed that only down and out buyers would spend their time going to a home show. I disagreed, I know from over 10 years of displaying at this type of show that many people are just like me when they attend a show, they may have cabin fever or just want to see something new. But then, maybe there is less at the show this year...after all I said the same about the Sportsmans Show 30 years ago!!!

Although I haven't winter tires on my van or Honda, although they would be a definate asset on the rear wheel drive van, I totally agree with you Lew. I wonder how many of the 700 morons that piled their cars up yesterday were distracted by cell phones, coffee and screwing around with the radio? Really from what I saw in Hamilton and in Burlington it wasn't that terrible to drive. Now Niagara, N. of T.O, above the escarpment that was probably alot worse, but holy crap! People, just slow down, trust us...you will get there. Enjoy the coffee Lew.

Can't wait to see the pics Cliff. It sounds like it is a lot safer standing up on the peir fishing than splashing around in the water! Eels, skates, dogfish! ...scares me YIKES!!

Nice memory Lew, Iron Workers contributed so much to our society. Yep, I agree, the organizers must just love to see more cars added to the already too heavy rush hour traffic. They probably have their reason for the open hours though, busiest times etc. I guess. Be better to go mid morning then leave before the rush hour starts if at all posible.

My brother's ex wife had a similiar surgery many years ago. I believe that they used a piece of bone from a pig for the transplant. It wasn't her wrist but a vertibrea I think. It was along time ago, many years ago, so I'm not sure of all the details, but she recovered fust fine. Have confidence and as Lew said, it will be easier than you think. Best of luck for a quick and successful recovery.

Sounds like a great time in Myrtle Beach Cliff, glad to hear from you. First time I was down there was in '79 and we went out on a 90' charter boat out of Murels Inlet, which is just S. of Myrtle for sea bass. Great times! I'm looking forward to your next report.
