  1. I am headed for "THE KINGDOM" Sept.15th. Finally!!! I've been trying to put this together for a couple years.
  2. Looks like a wonderful place. I am coming up mid September to check it out. We have fished around Minaki and Ignace for many years and are looking for another place to add to our Canadian itinerary. If it is as wonderful as it appears to be it could become a permanent fall trip for us.Has anyone fished Nungesser the last half of September?
  3. I had 7 explorers befor switching over to the Envoy. The Envoy is way nicer, better riding more power,etc.,etc..Pulled my 17 foot boat to Canada and back with power to spare.I got 15.5 mpg this spring fully loaded towing the boat.
  4. My Mom is a 23 year SURVIVER of Larynx cancer. Keep the Faith!!
  5. In my humble opinion, walleye (because it has little oil or fat) does not lend itself to smoking.Trout, salmon, white bass, and my favorite carp take to the smoker more naturally.Walleye is my favorite eating fish by far,but there are farr better fish to smoke
  6. The only time I'll be hittin' a bear with pepper is just before he goes into the slow cooker
  7. I'm pretty sure that is a Pine Warbler
  8. There is alot of good line on the market today. When I was involved in the industry I had access to all the brands and I kept going back to Bagleys Silver thread Excaliber. Now that I have to pay for my line, that is still what I use.Super strong, very limp, and very little memory. 8# for Walleyes and 14# for lakers and Pike.
  9. Adult Female walleyes do spawn completely every year. Down in here in Wisconsin we release all the prespawn females that we catch. The 15 to 18 inch males are by far better eaters anyway.
  10. the best black fly repellant is a dragon fly hatch
  11. Can anyone recommend a good place for breakfast between Fort Frances and Kenora. We will be travelling through on our way to MInaki and like to stop for a big Breakfast somewhere in that stretch
  12. The pics and stories I come here to see have no civilization in them at all. If your picture has buildings or bridges or can be accessed easily you can rest assured I won't be bothering you. If I post a picture and you can find that spot I hope you have as much fun as I do when I am there.
  13. he deserves a standing Ovation .He looks like he is doing a great job picking his way through the harbor.
  14. This is the 2nd thread I've seen today regarding impeller issues. In 35 years and 4 different motors.( 60 and 70 horse mercs johnson and evinrude,2 stroke and 4 stroke, I have yet to have an impeller failure and never replaced a single one. Have I just been lucky or is this not as common as some make it out to be? I probably just jinxed myself for even asking the question.
  15. I've seen 10 minutes of rough weather blow in and sink a boat beached at shore luch so fast you think it possble.
  16. It does look cool. Supposed to hve been minted in 2004 (30 million of them). Wonder what the delay was in releasing it.
  17. personally,I'd be looking for 2 new fishing partners
  18. Walleyes like to feed after dark.Pike not so much
  19. Yeah going through Kenora but plan on spending the night on one side of the border or the other. that gives us about a 3 to 4 hr. trip to camp the next morning
  20. I sell cars for a living and we handle dodge as well as GM (NEW) Also all makes of used of course. The old style durangos are probably the worst on gas of any of the SUVs.Given the choice I would look for something else.Trailblazer or Envoy, would be first choice.
  21. i am stopping overnight somewhere in the area on my way to Minaki at the end of the month. Any recommendations on a place for a few cocktails and a good steak?
