I have no thoughts on the legend. But I can tell you I love my Lowe and if I was to buy new my next boat would be a Lowe FM165 or FM175... or the Fish & Ski version.

anyone have BPS 100MPH or pro qualifier rain gear?
mdej replied to Nater's topic in General Discussion
I have been debating buying a high quality rain suit for a long time. I think after reading all this I will add it to my birthday list. I think its good, cause I wear my existing rain jacket to the office and on outing on days when its raining. I see it being a multi function outfit. -
Okay Rick, do you Snopes everything you read or just have a large memory bank of urban myths. Regardless of the story, as some point someone did take the pictures (Dr.ZZZ) and even at they they were neat.

I'm more jealous of the short sleved breathable top then the fish. I'm sick of wearing my winter coat.

Nice. Good to hear it lived to see another day.

I think that most guys that hit that size of floro for leaders use crimp tubes. That is what I will be doing when I make larger # floro leaders. I know I have tied up to 35# using a uni knot and no issues to date (little superglue to hold it tight). This is what I'm talking about http://cgi.ebay.com/LEADER-SLEEVES-RIGGING...bayphotohosting Berkley and others make these kits that include crimping plyers as well.

According to their website it can be purchased at newsstands. However I have looked everywhere since Feb trying to find it. Have had no luck so far. Even the mega chapters downtown did not have it. Ah now I see TJ's thread, seems that OFC is more up to date then their own website. 2 - 10 days I will check again on the weekend.

Guess I'm lazy. Never went to the effort of looking for other sites. I participate here and in and Ottawa region site because I cottage that way and the members over there are just as helpful as the members here.

Has anyone seen the Tracker Ad in this months In Fisherman magazine?? I don't recall the exact wording but Tracker is pumping their boats by saying that a we respected boat company is moving to fiberglass away from Rivited hulls. I thought the add was kind of aggressive more like a US style political attack campaign.

I still don't get why they call them bald... I could see buzzards being called bald but not eagles.... away.. Watched a really good show not National Geo channel a week or so back about Raptors (eagles, owls etc) they show how the birds fly, locate prey etc... it was fascinating.. They are even trying to model planes after how the birds feathers are designed to cut the wind create stability etc... most learning show are neat, but this one was exceptional.

Trilene XL, but got a 4# spool of the MAXX that I'm loading on the ultra light. My guess is it will be great. Trilene mono is an old standby that you know you can trust. I agree that some of the P-Line high bread mono's look interesting.

What kind of Fluorocarbon Line do you use?
mdej replied to 98Fahrenheit's topic in General Discussion
When I say still I think more of line memory. Meaning the loops don't straighten as well coming off the spool. -
Ya they do carry the AMSOil gear lube, but I don't think its marine gear lube (not sure it matters) from what I recall it was more for the automotive then marine. But I will look again give me a reason to hit CT stores during my adventures.
-
For 2 stroke marine injected - AMSOil HP Injector - switched from Natalist and it seems to run cleaner and smells better. Lower end fluid I use the Natalist - Reason, I can't find anything else, would like to try Royal Purple marine lower end, but I really don't know where to find it.

I don't know much about them. But I know I'm considering the X67c as my bow mount replacement. I have an older sonar that just does not do anything in the muddy bottomed waters I fish.
-
Now was that caught by hand (whatever they call it) or was is rod and reel. He must be a strong guy cause I don't think I could hold up a 203lb fish.

Tired the Seaguar main line last year on a spinning rig, didn't like it but I don't think it was the manufacturer, I think it was the floro in general. Now only use floro leaders, Seaguar leader line & Maxima leader line.... Both seem to perform equally well. I seem to migrate to the Seaguar cause its like 1$ - 2$ cheaper per 27yard spool. -
Having seen situations like this in past you have a couple options. 1) As Rick explained. Get on the list to speak, keep it to the point, raise issues about traffic, road conditions, drainage, noise, loss of view, etc etc. Only use items that are real and you can justify. Decrease in value is always debatable as sometimes new development actually increases the value of your home/land. 2) Find out who the development corporation is. Get an assessed re-sale value of your home. Approach the development corporation to see if they are interested in purchasing at this price. Since you are already beside the drive way in, they may want to alter the entrance/exit and need your property to do so. If you do follow this path, do it quickly as part of the development the would be submitting plans. The rezoning of your property could be added to the existing proposal. Since a condo complex exists already the odd's are not in your favor. I feel really bad for you this will be a trying time. Make sure you spend the energy wisely don't just talk about it, do something about it. And remember the rumors from your neighbours are just that.... rumors. Most development companies are up front honest businesses. If you have questions or concerns they will assign a liaison or community rep etc. They will provide you with the most honest and open answers. Ensure in you speech to your council that they 1) Have a liaison assigned, 2) Have clearly defined dispute resolution mechanism. The development corp will complain some, but hold your ground. These are the little things that can make the process simpler. Oh - Hire a good lawyer or at least get in contact with one. You may not need them, but then again you might.

Always good to hear a company doing the right thing. I just hope mine don't break

Got and ultra light (maybe it was light) for the Mrs last year after she broke my Fenwick ultra light. She abuses in for fishing pan fish and had landed some very nice large mouth on it as well. Far as I'm concerned it seems to work well. It rides in what my boat calls a rod locker (not really a rod locker) and I pull it out on slow days with the gulp earth worms that ride in the locker with the rod. I have enjoyed using it. For the price I think its okay.
-
Thanks. Never heard of this store till now and its not far from my house. I think I will go talk to them and give it a shot. I mean its only a hook keeper so it if breaks the world will not end. Just have to figure out the loop to finish the knot.

My Lowe came with it mounted to the inside with a chain and all attached to a screw on the inside. Never thought to change it.
