  1. For the first part of your story.... good on ya for trying to inform them :clapping: Nope 1) Under 18 or Over 64 you don't need a licence in Ontario. 2) I don't want my family to not be able to get me fishing gear as gifts because they don't have a licence. I don't buy the whole gift card thing. My nephew loves nothing more then picking me out shinny lures with his Aunt and then giving them to me as a gift. Gift cards just don't have the same wow factor. Just my opinion
  2. Okay so after some more looking there is and online version of the paper. http://www.metronews.ca/Toronto/Edition In that link you have to actually flip to page 30 in the online viewer (because todays edition has an New Homes supplement). Left hand side of the page, click to zoom in. Its a little slow method of looking at the paper, however if you want you can download the PDF version by clicking on the menu and saying download PDF.
  3. Correct free daily you can pick up at any GO, TTC or most downtown street corners. High distribution and readership. Regardless of the cost its is a print media for news and thus people rely on it for information.
  4. If its this common of a problem, I can see the packaging next year.... New Improved Alive formula with easier to use bucket!
  5. Yes the leeches come on the packages too, however in the Gulp format not Gulp Alive. I don't see much of a difference except that Gulp Alive is in buckets with the liquid. http://www.berkley-fishing.com/cat.php?k=96386&sk=95677 I know for me I got the small bucket cause with a baby on the way my fishing time early this season is limited. I would have got the large bucket otherwise, because in the past I have gone through lots of those Gulp Minnows. Just wish I could have found the 4" Alive minnows at the store, had to settle with the 3" ones. The 3" attract too many sunfish, I have found the 4" work better getting the crappies to bite and being to large to be enticing to the sunfish.
  6. Before I had posted this thread I had emailed the editor link posted above. I was looking on the website however I could not find the side bar on the website itself. Hence why I posted it here instead.
  7. I will check this tonight. I just picked up the small bucket last night for use this weekend. Will check out what you are talking about before I open it up. Thanks for the heads up.
  8. For those of us in the GTA check out todays Metro commuter paper. On page 18 there is a sidebar titled Metro Top 5ive. Long Weekend Foods. "#1 Large Mouth Bass, straight out of the lake, cooked over an open fire" Source: Metro Thursday May 15th 2008. http://www.metronews.ca/Toronto/Edition (pg. 30 in online setup) It uniformed tibits like this that make people think, hey when I'm in Muskoka/Kawartha's etc this weekend I will catch me some large mouth and grill it up for a snack. For the informed fisherman we know that bass fishing is not open in most areas until June. Seeing things like this annoy me. Just wanted to rant a little to get it off my chest.
  9. Thanks for the heads up the fan being controlled by the board. I did not know the warranty, I will have see if the he MRS can find the receipt, take it in and see what they say. Thanks!
  10. I have one of these chargers. Bought it 2 years ago. The charger seems to work fine however I have had an issue with mine. It appears that the fan in mine is spinning out of control. It revs so fast it sounds like its taking off. I'm planning this year to open it up and replace the fan (or see if its possible anyway). Other then that the charger seems to work fine. I don't know the time it takes I just let it do its thing. I used the deep cycle 10amp mode. The charge continues to apply a trickel charge once it thinks the battery is charged. Only thing I'm not sure about is how smart the sensors are... is my battery really 80% then charge to 100%. I put my faith in that it is doing what it suppose too.
  11. What I think is interesting is how greedy they are. Thats a good sized meal its already had, its not digested yet and still smacks you lure looking for more.
  12. Not sure on the cost @Napa... I'm thinking I paid 13.99, but it may have been 19.99. Lots cheaper then the drive to Buffalo. My local NAPA stocked the DeepCreep, TransTune & Motor Treatment. Packaging is a little different then USA version (has french on it for 1) but I have been told its the same product inside, just a different label on the outside.
  13. 1) Tow to middle of lake in deep spot 2) Take 30/30 and shoot 1 hole in the front, 1 in the back 3) Watch it fill with water 4) Mark location on Map (GPS) 5) In a couple weeks go back and fish. Well, at least thats how my dad got rid of ours when I was a kid. Really not sure how you go about it now.
  14. Seafoam is good stuff. And it IS available in Canada. Just hit your local NAPA store, they have the full product line in stock.
  15. I carry the portable radio and have it running at all times until it runs out of battery. Then I know its time to go home!
  16. Too bad on the pike, maybe you gave up to soon? Little feast of perch is better then nothing.
  17. I use the AMSOil HP Injector in my oil injected Evinrude. It runs perfectly, little smoke and a lot less smell. I also use the AMSOil Interceptor is all my other 2 strokes (chainsaw, linetrimmers etc). Great products. Dan The Man, the Lucas Oil is suppose to be very good as well, however I have never had a reason to try is since going with AmsOil.
  18. Whopper, Good on ya for reminding us that we should be wearing some version of a life vest. I appreciate you bringing up the topic so that when my nefews read this they are reminded to wear the life vest whenever they are on teh water. Personally I'm horrible at wearing mine. However when in the boat alone in motion I do wear it. I force the GF to wear hers at all times when in motion (she's not a good swimmer). And most of the time she just leaves it on. I'm planning on investing in a manual inflatable vest style this year, hoping I can wear it all day and not have it bother me. Think the sexy tan marks that would leave.
  19. Thats an interesting question. I too would like to know the answer.
  20. Love my Honda CRV - 1999, 130k, not 1 issue so far. Change the oil and tires. Oh I did have to replace one of the auto door lock mechanisms and a rusted out heat shield. Great little SUV.
  21. When picking do you use a regular flash light? I've read that using a red light (either bulb in flashligh or cover) does not disturb the worm so they don't disappear back down the whole
  22. I have the master lock combo kit as well. I have used the lock you purchased for 2 years no issues thus far.
  23. Where are you guys finding the magazine? I have looked at the news stands with no luck.
  24. Roy - Looks like your boat is trapped. Now you have to wait for everyone else to get the heck out of your way in the morning Man my boat would be out of place with that collection of equipment.
  25. Thanks for the report. I'm liking the looks of those swimbait spinners.
