  5. Congrats!!! I bought the company i was working for, 8 years ago, and love it.With good employees, i can still take long weekends all summer, and fish when i want Just remember, take time for yourself, and when the key goes in the door at night, the work stays there till the next day.
  6. Actually its warm enough, but when you are going fast in the boat, the wind causes a rippleing effect on heavy set guys like me, if you get my drift.Creates all kinds of drag.
  7. Great idea Bud !! I was looking at black spandex to keep the rest of me warm.I figured if ski jumpers and speed skaters used spandex, it would be good for boat fishing too. I was sorely wrong though.
  8. Dana i have been looking at these for next year.Tried a pair on and they are very comfortable http://www.basspro.com/Bass-Pro-Shops-reg-Neoprene-Fishing-Gloves/product/73534/142605

  10. I'm not equipped for cold weather fishing yet, so my boat has been in hibernation for 3 weeks already. If i can get some good outerwear next year, i plan on fishing till freeze up.
  11. A LURE TREE You my friend are a genius !!!!
  12. When you talk about knot strength, are you refering to slippage or the actual knot breaking. I have been using saliva when tightening knots in flouro, and so far(touch wood) no slippage or breaking. I started, late this season, to but a drop of anglers glue on the knot.I read somewhere it helps.
  13. Honestly, i started using it because you guys told me to use it.Years ago, all there was,was Mono. It does, however, give me a confidence while i am fishing. It allows me to use incredibly thin braid to catch incredibly toothy fish. This year, i have caught huge walleye, a couple of small muskie, and some nice Pike, on thread sized 10lb braid, with flouro leader. Maybe mono would have worked just as well, but i seem to remember losing alot of fish way back when, because the fish cut through the monofilament. I will continue to use flouro because i believe it works, and that allows me to catch more fish.
  14. Merc...No1 on the water. And yes..Welcome Duke!

  17. Great info guys, Thanks I kinda like Compre also. I have a 6'10 MH for walley, and a 7'H for Musky Trolling, and really like the feel of them. I would like a 2 piece for transporting, but its not 100% necessary. If i get enough gift cards, i may get the St.Croix of my dreams, We will see. Thanks a bunch. Paul
  18. Well, Christmas is soon here and Santa asked me what kind of a casting rod for Musky, he should get me. I am fully equipped for trolling now, but not for casting. I will be pairing the rod for now, with a Curado 300E, with the idea of getting a Calcutta in the future. Not really looking for a make, but suggestions are welcomed, more looking for length and strength etc. Many thanks Paul
  19. Never caught a trout of any kind actually.Wouldn`t know how to fish one if my life depended on it
