  1. You'd be hard pressed to compete. Mid Ontario fiberglass (Scott Canoe) Produces at least one model if not two. I know the one is mostly a rescue toboggan but is used across the north for everything. Equinox produces a full line from plastic to fiberglass. Cosco has the Plastic Trailboggan on right now with a tongue for $269. I've had mine for over 10 yrs. You'd be competing with these two who mass produce. Just something to check out. RR
  2. I think I do. I'll have a look through my piles of papers. Send me an email with stocking in the title and I'll forward. RR
  3. Cosco in Barrie now has Exuinox Trailboggan with tongue on for $269. These are a fairly good quality and will last for years. I have had mine over 10 years. I can refer you to a thread on toboggans on one of my snowmobile sites. It's quite extensive. Remeber you get what you pay for. You can email if you need the like. RR
  4. If you got to some of the manufactures web sites or some they support they usually have a recall section. Check out dootalk.com for skidoo. arcticchat.com for Arctic Cats RR
  5. That's one scary face for sure. Oh man don't think I want that in the boat. RR
  6. There is a cover for a snowmobile trailer in the Super shopper. It's like or is called Toy Hauler. I think it is only a single but you could also remove it for the summer mths. RR
  7. There is a guy who works out of his house on Hwy 90 just West of Barrie. He builds fiberglass covers that fit on the trialer. They are individual ones. So for two sleds you would need two. They look pretty good and durable. You may be able to find a used covered at a good price. My buddy bought a used covered at a steal in the summer. RR
  8. Terry that sled is fine for Simcoe. I've used my Grand Touring 500 with a 136" track for years out there and never had a problem with snow or slush. I take my sled off trail many time accessing back lakes and it's all how you drive it. If you get stuck there are numerous ways to get it unstuck and you need to learn these if you solo at all. There is always a better sled but there is nothing wrong with the Legend line up. You'll pull a fish trap just find and it's a comfy sled. I bought a used 2005 GTX 500 last March and was doing lots of solo off trail running just fine. If you ever want to head out on the lake and practice some stuff drop me a line. Congrats on your new addition. PS. find a better way to attach that sled to your trailer ro you'll be doing another insurance claim. RR
  9. Beauty pics. That's what memories are made of. Got some of my little girl now she's 19 yo. The boat.......I want it. thinking of doing the Advantage pattern on my lund. Perfect duck hunting/fishing boat. The gas in the garage can be a problem. I can smell the gas in the basement if it is a bit hot out and fumes fill the garage. Happens now and then with the snowmobile too. Usually if I fill it too much. Doesn't seem to be a problem right now as my can is in the garage. Just make sure it the family smells something to remove the can from the garage before calling Enbridge and fire dept. It can be embarassing. Enjoy your boat. RR
  10. Thanks Brian. Always a few boats out but some days they are spread out for sure. RR
  11. Went out today on Simcoe. Tried 20' 30' 40' 50' and once I got 60' behind the ball I picked up a laker. I wasn't bottom bouncing. About 4' off bottom in 110 fow. RR
  12. Was out sitting on my sled in the garage the other day. Can't wait for hard water. The Skidoo line up of Touring and Grandtouring are great sleds. The touring is a fan cooled and the Grand touring are Liquid. (until about 2001) I had a 98 Grandtouring 500 and have been all across the province on it. Left Simcoe in the morning and was on Nipising by evening. Long day. I'm on Simcoe all winter long fishing and the slush hasn't been a big problem with the 136" track. The Touring line of 380 440 500 are all two up and great ice fishing sled. The fan cooled is great when snow conditions are less than favourable. Driving patch to patch can be tough. The liquid needs snow and lots of it to keep the heat exchangers cool. They are under the tunnel so if going slow because of less snow it's hard to keep the sled cool. I've had to stop driving patch to patch to let my sled cool. Both sleds need snow for the sliders. My Grand Touring has made it into many back lakes in deep powder with not much problem. When you get it stuck 500 lbs is 500 lbs. There are easy/simple ways to get sleds unstuck. All around try to pick up a 136" sled that is a two up. The older touring/grand touring are the SC-10 suspension. With the newer Rev platform there are a ton of the SC-10 suspension sleds around at bargin prices. Most dealers won't take them on a trade in as they can't get rid of them. Just look at how well maintained the sled is. Is it all rusted in the front from trailering ? sault. How's the track. If it's starting to crack then you'll be replacing it $800. I just sold my GT last spring and picked up a 2005 GTX 500. It's a comfy sled. RR
  13. My buddy had his kicker stolen a few nights ago from his driveway. Had one of those lockes across the part that screws across the transom. They just cut all the locks off and walked away with it. Obviously they were prepared. He's on this site and I'm sure will tune in soon. I remove my gas line like mentioned if leaving tied in a public place. At home my 15 hp stays on a stand in the garage. Pain to take it on and off but it's safe. RR
  14. I'll put all this advice to work guys. I sent you an email Ice. Leaving in a few hours so no time to borrow your maps. I'll stop at Dads and pick up a new map. Everyone enjoy your weekend. This is the first long weekend we have been away in years. RR
  15. Troutguy are you lengthing your leads when not bottom bouncing? I get nothing on leads less than 40 ft. The magic length for us seem to be the 50-60 ft. I'm usually just off bottom and my hooks are clean when I bring them up to change. Have not been able to find Sutton Spoons yet in the Barrie area. Haven't tried Cdn tire yet though. Not doing good like familyguy though. RR
  16. Congrats on the first Ski. Your hooked now . Can't wait for your second ski now. RR
  17. A fish dreams are made off. Congrats and two yet. RR
  18. Thanks for the tips guys. I'm familier with the access road. What's the parking like down there. I remember a lot of private spots and for lodges. Only down there in the winter though. I do have a fishing map but doesn't really have depths on it. Mosly shows shoals by dark areas and such. Beautiful area to canoe. RR
  19. We're staying at Finlayson Park. I didn't realize it was that far by water. Guess on the snowmobile it never seems far. Net lake is 3 miles north of Temagami at what they call Temagami North. My boat is only a 14' Lund with a 15 hp on it . Doesn't draw much water. Come to think of it it sure likes the rocks in Georgian Bay. What about up near Bear Island for some Pike action? RR
  20. Some great lakers you got there. Mine are all small. Can't seem to get any decent sized ones. See you on the lake. RR
  21. Came up with a brilliant idea last night. Talked my wife into a weekend camping at the Provincial Park in Temagami. Thought I'd hit Lake Temagami on Sat then into Net lake ( which we had an island on as a kid) for Sun. I've never fished Lake Temagami and wonder do I have to go far from the PP to get deep water for Lakers. I'd really like to try for some Pike and figure the shoals at dark. Can you get into Cross lake from Temagami. The Topo I have doesn't really show you can. I'd like to head up to where Net and Cross meet to dip a line. Spent may summers on Net when there was a mill there and before the townsite was built. Always wanted to get back there with my so who is now 12. I have seen the original cabin is still there but a beautiful cottage has been built on the island. I've ice fished Diamond and surounding lakes as we've run in by snowmobile. Any info would be great help. RR
  22. Long leads ...... 60 ft? I'll be out all next week. Bottom bouncing (for my net). RR
  23. Picked up my copy on the way home and dove into the article. Top notch as usual. Hope this doesn't mean were going to see less trip reports form Bunk. RR
  24. You can launch at Kilbear Park. While sitting on the beach we see a bunch of boats (usually with riggers on) heading north past the park from Parry Sound. They all seem to be heading in the same general direction. RR
  25. The lakers seem to be cooperating lately. 85-110 fow. Bottom bouncing the balls or just off bottom. I've been having luck with Green NK's. I'm no expert and have only been getting the 3-5 lb range. Lucky if we get two in an outing. Some friends jigging near Fox have been dooing just as good. RR
