  1. wow that looks awesome Nick!!
  2. Saw these exploring my property today. The first ones are some kind of oyster (haven't confirmed yet), the other is chaga (great for tea and tinder).
  3. you must not live close enough to quebec
  4. Yup they sure look like them. Nice specimens too. A lot of my field mushrooms get eaten by bugs before I can even get to them
  5. Now your talking MB haha Now I'm also looking forward to tomorrow morning
  6. Nothing better than morning walleye... except maybe morning speckled trout
  7. Hope it'll have an ice road. Congrats that is one sweet piece of real estate!! Like Chris said, u pay the ticket there and I'll help you build whatever the heck you want.
  8. nothing to do with gov approvals. Its the BB network. the other phones has unsecured networks that can't handle the military/governmetn needs. The canadian gov just (or will soon) approved I-Phones/samsungs for their employees, but they all use the BB network. Basically it would be walk and talk like an I-Phone but use the BB software so google or any other amateur hacker doesn't access and sell all their data to the highest bidder. I know this because I have a family member who basically decides what the Feds use for computers/phones.
  9. Cheeze Whiz?? Actually that doesn't sounds too bad! haha. My wife uses a spread out avocado as butter sometimes
  10. Ok, a bit of a silly topic, but I LOVE me a good breakfast and I'm just curious what other peoples habits are. Also I typically eat my morning food ASAP, like minutes after I wake up. Can't imaging waiting unitl lunch like some people do!! #1 morning food - Three sunny side up eggs with lots of pepper, three pieces of toast the last one with PB and jam, #2 three egg omlett cooked in olive oil, no bread, tons of veggies and spices and seeds like turmeric, pepper, chia seeds, hemp seeds, sesame. This is my healthy Brek. #3 if I'm short on time, some goofy kids cereal mixed with another cereal with actual substance like Oatmeal Crunch. Morning Drink: Green Tea! I use the loose leaf stuff from David's Tea and it just so damn good compared to the sticks/dead leaf green tea from the bags.
  11. Oh, and don't bother with a used chainsaw. I bought a high-end used one and turned out to be a potential money pit so I bought new. Chainsaws are just one of those things you dont' buy used...unless you can test it out for free for a week haha.
  12. There's a reason governments and military's use BB... now, once they start hiring teenage girls that may change The biggest issue with BB is that it's is/was hugely integral in our Canadian Pension Plan. I can't imagine the losses we have ALL realized due to the collapse of its share price and eventual buy-out. You can bet the government spent a lot of money trying to prop it up too... Good thing Jim Balsilie didn't buy a hockey team several years ago!
  13. Thx! It's about time I get it haha. Depending on your instructor, it might be a bit elementary for you, as it was for me. The RCMP does a background check etc and then files all the paperwork...buraucracy takes time I guess.
  14. The leafs flop was WAYYY worse. I still laugh about that one and will for years.
  15. Just completed my hunting/gun safety course last weekend. Took ALLLL weekend. Was long, but it's over. I bought my small game license today and have to apply to the RCMP for my PAL before I can buy/possess a gun. That will take several months to complete....what that means is...if you want to hunt next year, get the courses over with NOW>
  16. I could use 100 perch just about now! But I'll have to wait for Nipissing to freeze over. Enjoy the awesome fishing!
  17. Right on. Glad to hear it. I had a good experience the other day in the hospital as well... was very satisfied with the service.
  18. I slam out dozens of emails each day from my phone and sometimes I gotta do it quick and very wordy...the BB bold (touchscreen with keypad) was GOLD for typing with confidence. Unfortunately work sent me a new Z10 without a touchscreen pad. The operating system is nice and the antenna is WAYYYY better (i get reception at my house now!), but I don't like the touchscreen typing and I can't understand why anyone would want this or any other touchscreen for work...all they care about is being cool and having games and stupid apps?? I get horribly typed out emails all the time and I know why! Now when I need to send important emails from the field, I'd rather log in to my computer...really wish they sent me a Q10. Funny, that my company is partially owned by Fairfax, so technically, BB may soon be part of my family of companies! kind of cool, but whatever. . If you email/type a lot in the field, the keypad is KEY. No substitute. Blackberry is going nowhere, they will have support for your device for many years, I wouldn't worry about that.
  19. great stuff! That's the kind of trip that makes you hungry for more!
  20. Suprised they haven't pulled the god crap out of it yet either. But I dont' really care, it's part of the original lyrics, so keep it. Margaret attwood is quite annoying and extremely condescending. Not suprised this is stemming from her. "all thy sons command' isn't even a male/female reference, it refers to god's son, lil' baby jebus...so any correction of the line wouldn't even provide any sexe equlity in the song, it would just remove a jebus reference...
  21. Sending a PM, Chris. Saw another couple birds tonight on a short walk but nothing killied. Next week should start freezing the greenery up a bit.
  22. I'd say definitly the same fish. That's incredle!
  23. want rabbit hair? Give me a few months and I'll have more rabbit hair than I know what to do with.
  24. They are flying right into the thickets and out of sight... not worth chasing them... we are just being impatient; lots of time left in the season! Still, the walks are great! Yup! The wind helped yesterday, but the low-lying green stuff needs a few frosts to knock it down.
  25. One of the nicest looking specks I've ever seen. You've got some nice spots there Sal.
