  1. great way to spend a couple days. That first pic just begs for steak, walleye filets, a beer and good friends / or family. Looks like you covered most of the bases.
  2. For me - no comparison. Nipigon. Scenery, fishing, get away from it all and you can day trip to all you want from there too.
  3. Great to watch them as they develop - that stage is such a blast.
  4. Very cool Simon ................... so did you Waypoint that spot?
  5. thanks for the report - beautiful stretch of water - looks like a great spot and a good day out.
  6. Hey Dana - welcome back, and quite the (re)entrance. You have been practicing while absent. Nice set of fishies there.
  7. I think he already is Lew. Good practice for the little fella. Thats really too bad you didnt get any whities for your team Joey Guess you'll have to try another weekend.. We found the fishin' tough today too; only three in the boat, and G wasnt able to add any inches to your team either, although I understand Team 4 got a few more.
  8. sweet report. some really nice fish there. on my list - both lake and river. that first day was a gem
  9. congrats on your first fly catch - nice colours on that little specimen
  10. were you leaning on the housing at all? I've done that more than once. Also was this right from the top, or only once you were down already? I run 8lb balls, and past 90 ft they need a hand pulling things down. Could alos be the tension nut has tighted up too much, Pop the lid and check the nut on the top of the spool. You should be able to test in the driveway. i had that with my manuals a few years ago.
  11. congrats on acheiving your quest - a great feeling - and you did it in style.. Those are some sweet specks. Your efforts were well rewarded Plus - your portage out was all downhill great vid - thanks for taking the time to put that together. AP is a place that speaks to the inner being on lakes like that.
  12. I heard about this last night before they knew the results - I was really hoping it wasnt going to end this way. Initial reports were a gust of wind flipped it while it was landing and it sank. My condoloences to the family
  13. nice day to be on the water and a couple sweet ones to show for it - although it looks like Terry's fish is comin for a kiss Brian... Sure beats mulching the garden, putting the deck back together, cutting the grass..... and so on. But now the brownie cupboard is full and off to lake O at 4:00 is back on the schedule - if mother nature is gracious enough prermitting
  14. Very cool learning that B - on my list for some time when I more than 1 day a week to potentially hit the water
  15. kind of ironic, huh? This post has more responses than most of our fishing posts
  16. an interesting thought, and I have to admit there are times I am dumbfounded at the views to some posts and the poor reply counts - but where do you draw the line? I see a lot of members who have been members way longer than me, have way fewer posts than me, but offer a report or opinion once in a while. Many of them quality. How long are you a member without a post before you are cut off? How long in between posts? As an example, one member who has something like 20,000+ posts (and shall go un named but you all know who) wont be posting for several months becuase he is doing what we would all love to do - turning off the internet, relaxing and fishing. We gonna cut him out? I think like most things in life, take from it what you want and ignore the rest. Give what you want and hopefully it is appreciated. I have met some great freinds through this place. Two of them before I had really posted anything. Whats that worth? Priceless. You have something you want to show and share, but dont want the lurkers to see? PM your buds, or perhaps use another social media outlet. Its a forum, not a club. just my $0.02 now back to reading those fishing posts.
  17. awesome report and some seriously nice fish. looking forward to my trip in July - can look at that scenery and never get enough of it.
  18. nice fish! congrats
  19. Yikes - what a way to start your day Bear Grabs man off outhouse seat
  20. wow - nice haul. Bet they'll be talking about that weekend for a while. nice wall-of-eyes in the last pic
  21. cool shots Dave - I love the aura around the sun in the first one -makes it look like a big eye in the sky. The water was really calm ... makes you feel the relaxation just looking at it.
  22. Thanks for all the comments guys - Micheal - the hunt for a Tyee x2 is on now - I for me and one for G (and anyone else in the boat that day). Juli - I gotta admit, I was watching the rod and praying that it was gonna be this fish in the boat, and not the rod in the lake more than once .
  23. great report -getting up there is long time resident of my bucket list - some great fish and fantastic scenery - thanks
  24. Bang on Frank. seems around these parts the 3rd year chinnies are called Kings -the King of the Lake tourney for instance.
