  1. Just an amazing trip Bunk, was a blast Speck Truckin with you guys. I'm still grinning ear to ear going through the pics and to think in less than 2 weeks its on to the next adventure BTW thanks for yet another P.B.
  2. Lots of fantastic fall gold. Bunk, it looks like you have that Bay figured out. Thanks for getting me into another personal best and looking forward to a trip out in that war canoe someday.
  3. Jiggn up 2 musky @ fifty and over in one day......awesome. Watched that video last year and thought jiggn for them would be crazy
  4. A couple of muskie, some chunky eyes and a new PB smallie for your bro. Awesome day.
  5. Very nice, that last ones a Beaut.
  6. Hope to get out a few more times before things ice up. Thanks again for the many great replies.
  7. I feel for ya. Think I would be going through polka dot withdrawal
  8. The awesome fall specs of course. Especially the male specs with their full on spawning features. With their tangerine red/orange bellies, their puffed up backs and lets not forget their kyped jaws. Well I canceled my trip out west and had and as much as I had looked forward to it at least I had couple days of prime time to chase these beauts. The face of rejection, a small girl quickly released in hopes of finding some brightly painted males. In one week the trees went from this....... …....to this. With the trout feeding patterns turning on and off just as fast. GOT KYPE? (all fish caught in stocked, yr round open, non reproducing lakes) Judging by all the great replies on my last post I'm sure you'll enjoy these.
  9. A whole lot of chunky specs there boys. This pic is my fav....beauty male spec in fall colors. 17” of glorious Speck! Fall fishing for specs, gotta love it.
  10. Beauty specs on a gem of lake during the fall in Algonquin. Doesnt get much better than that
  11. Glad everyone enjoyed these as much as I did. Ron all of those trout species are within a few hours of home except for the Aurora trout. Bunk a trip in the war canoe would be ultra cool. Just pick a Sunday or Monday Even with these 25-30km winds, rain and a wicked cold keeping me away from the lakes for the last half of my vacation I managed 2 solid days of fantastic fall spec fishn.
  12. 6 trout species. At first I thought it had hurt its wings, then I realized he was crushing his meal for a couple mins before he dug in. Couldnt tell what he was snacking on till I got too close and he flew away holding the chipmunk. Oh well one less tree rat
  13. Yes the golden Aurora Trout, largest one I have caught yet.
  14. Every summer I think is gonna be less busy than the last.......... and every summer I'm wrong. A day off a week has been welcome, at one point it was 4 weeks straight without a day off between work and other jobs. I did sneak away for a fish any chance I got though, even if it was just for an evening walleye or brown trout fish and I seemed to have done all right. Here's a bunch o pics of my summer. The family of Cooper's Hawks returned this spring. First trout in the new square back. A quick trip got me into a new P.Best inland brown. A couple of evening trips for eyes. Campfire Sweet Chilli Thai wings. Mmmmmmmm. Overnight trip for bows. Had a weekend to explore and got into to a back lake full of these laker imitators. Caught 7 and missed another 5 by noon before the storms rolled in. While talking with this fella over a chipmunk dinner he mentioned an elusive trout. ROAD TRIP!!!!!!!!!! Looks like the fall is here along with a weeks worth of well needed vacation. Fall Spec Fall splake Hope you enjoyed.
  15. Dana you may not have caught your auorora trout yet but that is a Beau-T red belly spec you hooked into. Welcome to trout addiction .
  16. I agree with the Sulton Rd. route. I take that way whenever Im head up to that area. Usually stop at the Arctic watershed?? Restaurant (Sultan and 144 junction) for a bite to eat. As for tackle in Wawa check out the Beachfront Trading post great selectionof tackle, maps and info (14 Broadway Avenue). Good luck on your trip.
  17. Ice off Nipigon style and 3 P.B.s Thats one helluva trip.
  18. Bought mine at Paddle Shack but Sail in Ottawa stocks them as well. You can proly put longer seat hangers in, but I find the height comfortable for fishing. I sold my 12 foot jon and bought this one as the jon boat was a 2 person carry unless you are able to back up to the lake. Good luck with what ever you chose.
  19. If your looking for something easy to carry, put a motor on and still be able to dip a paddle the Esquif Mallard gets my vote. I just bought the Mallard and was able to get out in it for the first time last weeknd. At 45lbs its easy to carry into those back lakes and with the middle seat it paddles decent for a Square back. You can even catch fish in it Want a step up in size look at the Heron(14' version).
  20. Big healthy gator, congrats on your new P.B.
  21. Awesome time lapse vids Drifter. Those shots of the sky at night are wicked. Here is one you might like, you may have even posted this one as I cant remember where I found it. Its of the Eyjafjallajökull volcano in Iceland.
  22. Thanks for all the great replies. Really liked my old nikon but they did not have a pocket size with a decent zoom so I switched to the Pana. Now on my third one. Most of the time dont even use the full res. off the camera. I like the wide as it fits most of the new displays better and is great for wide scenery. camillj Im fishing Eastern Ontario, Lanark to Bancroft.
  23. Rich Im lucky enough to have some of the lakes open yr round in my area. The reason is because the fish are not able to reproduce in those lakes. Tight lines. Mike
  24. Every year I look forward to the October specs, the fish are sporting their nicest colors and some even small kypes. This season I was unable to get out nearly half as much as planned. The couple of mornings I managed to get out though, the specs did not let me down. Hope you enjoy.... Gotta love the sunglasses and hunting hat gangsta pose
  25. Awesome fish drifter, especialy that dolly. Have to make it down to your part of gods country some time in my life.
