  1. Lol I need to try this. When I was younger I came across a lot while biking and I ran away with bricks being bull.
  2. At Algonquin we'd always catch about 20 rock bass pushing 9 inches, and a good amount of smaller ones thrown back. Good eating.
  3. Awesome! My first time fishing was on Rice, was 4/5, caught about 10 perch at 6 am, was hooked!
  4. As a kid my dad would always tell me to throw them away, we deemed them as "junk" fish because they wouldn't let the perch to the hook. It could be that in the motherland they didn't have sunfish but perch were plentiful, as well as different species of panfish. And growing up, the only people I've seen taking these sunfish were white bucket fishermen. I've seen a few reports here with sunfish being kept. What's the final verdict?
  5. Why are some people suggesting he be tried for attempted murder? He was using birdshot. Using that logic, any form of physical contact should be tried as attempted murder. Anyways, the guy over reacted by shooting at them after they fled.
  6. I thought this too, but if OP is correct then I haven't heard of stick baits being used for carp Plus if they're using wire leaders, definitely pointing at pike.
  7. That pretty much nails it. My old chemistry teacher once brought it up. More UV getting in - more damage than if you would have just gone bare.
  8. I meant that non polarized sun glasses at that price level will dilate your pupils while at the same time allowing more UV rays in (the cheap ones won't block them out).
  9. Just make sure they're polarized. Non polarized sunglasses will only damage your eyes.
  10. Eh, what if I'm just going for some suckers. Can I fish a worm off the bottom? I went scouting a couple times and haven't seen any floats, and I'm assuming they were out the for steelies.
  11. I'm hitting a trib tomorrow (don't worry I know the regulations, this one's open) but I've never fished too much in fast flowing water. If you float fish, is it a cast and retrieve every 10 seconds? Or do the weights keep the float in place?
  12. Same, I also had some luck with a few crappie, didn't take any pics though.
  13. Please write a report when you get back and good luck!
  14. I've only been to one spot on Erie (not fishing) and I'm pretty sure I recognize that place.
  15. Thanks! I've been looking for something to complement my "Human Genome Landmarks" poster.
  16. The only good Canadian beer I've had was Moosehead. European beer > Canadian beer
  17. Haven't really fished rivers, willing to hit up some local waters for some action though. I have an 8 ft light action rod. Is this good for trout? I've got 15 lb black fireline spooled on, but I have 8 lb fluorocarbon that I can just make leaders from.
