  1. I promised I would not post here for a while as I do not want to burden anyone on this board but Brian thank u for posting, new him well, took him coffee many a time , he loved flying, as u know, I have a picture of him standing beside my son in the tiger moth, ironically that is our last name and dad worked at DeHaviland for 35 years. Bob got a laugh out of that, the man was graceful thru chemo years ago and showed he was not a quitter, an inspiration to us all We had quite the day with Bob even a little flying, used to burn his ear off at the old co op store Keep on flying Bob, fly in peace
  2. Question With what one has now as a group package Is it going to cost more to go with a basic package and add on to what we currently have or do u find it will be cheaper
  3. hope u have a spare room for next winter or even a dog house not that i havent been in one before lol , good catch and eats, like i said yesterday a group of people killed the lake i fished on, very few lakes with access up here, good on you try them fried with a bit of bacon grease,,,,,,oh boy,,,, used to put them in a smoker also mmmmmmmm Brian, your out fishing us
  4. HA HA no moss growing under your feet Chris, u beat me too it, as a fathom is 6 ft. no wonder u havent been boating much OI just in good fun
  5. Great report Brian, glad u got onto a great day of fishing, along with your friends, one of your whities is the size of four up here lol The Phillipinoes kind of killed the lake i used to catch whities on, only have one this year, maybe next winter I can go fishing with you for a couple of days , we will do well. again well done, If i can get back next winter and u have ice we will get whities, might even expose u to a couple of old gem spots that produce on the old lady, one was 8.5, big humpy, and bring your friends as well, would be a good event, and I can promise they would all go home with some whities, would be a real treat to fish simcoe again, just dont expect me to sit in a hut at 0 c unless it is a/c lol minus 30 wc today and still managed a sun burn just no fish :wallbash:
  6. You are right Dave but I just got screwed out of a job because I was a p3, qualifications up here mean squat unless your aboriginal or have lived up here half your life,,,,,,,,,even a friend of my wife today is packing it in after trying for two years of trying to get work and she is a university graduate,, but she has 2 strikes against her she is not native being a p1 and she has not lived half her life up here,,,sadly because of prejudice the have lost their savings and are having to leave, I only truly wish the rest of Canada knew how one sided things are up here, they are truly playing on ignorance Many aboriginals without proper qualifications are getting some great paying jobs even without a high school diploma or even a drivers licence,, a quote from one native who got a job on maintaining the ice roads said all I have to do is give my band number and I will get a job up there and he did and he is driving a truck that requires a class 3 or d in Ontarios terms and he had no valid licence revoked and yes we also have friends working on the ice roads my neighbour being one and an ice road trucker of 14 years ex military,,,,,,and I have to go thru winter with a defective furnace and hope we dont deal with effects of carbon monoxide poisoning, it is not all roses and the Yukon and Nunuvit will surpass the NWT this year for economic growth, I only wish we came up here when u did, and yes the lady in question had applied 25 times in the last 2 years for various govt positions, its like the lube truck driving job from the mines which has been advertised countless times but I never got an interview, if I had of they would not have had to keep looking for people to fill the same job,,, I have been told they have to take time off for healing sessions, and that is also from an aboriginal
  7. For the love of God adopt me, well and my wife and my son,,,,,,, we can do chores
  8. Wars have been resolved faster than this thread, lol and dont take it personally if your for it u will support it if u dont u wont
  9. Chris u raised a good point ,,,,but at some point in this world someone has to judge those that have been irresponsible for taking innocent lives, wether it be date rape drugs, guns, vehicles boats etc. if u kill someone who was innocent then u deserve to expect u will do serious prison time, and if the judges had the balls to enforce the true laws of this land then maybe this crap would not be allowed to continue to happen, lest we forget the maggots who were street racing up the 400 who took out my neighbour , a truck driver just south of Innisfil a few years ago and yes we went to his funeral and took baked goods over to their home after the service... the judges are invisible and only care to make soft decisions so they dont upset the apple cart so they inturn make huge amounts of money so they can retire peacefully, i could go on but i wont
  10. With your math you are only 18, my son u have many years to recoup your memory lol
  11. My wife just saw your report, she had tears of joy in her heart, my daughter is smiling down on people like u and thx for letting us see a shoreline view of our old hometown, spent many many hours fishing in the exact same area, keep on doing what your doing with your family you will reap rewards forever trust me, and tx years ago for helping me with the issues of how to redo our bathroom re water damage, I dont forget
  12. You sir made me think of three f words after reading your most positive and one of the most recent uplifting reports on this board FAMILY FISHING FUN God bless you and your family so glad all had a wonderful weekend and many more to you and yours
  13. I will refrain comment u would not have survived in my school when I grew up, but we were taught to be accountable not sheepish with a bunch of squigables. even my east indian grade 5 teacher used to keep us in till 4 until we could all give a satisfactory hand drawn map of canada with all the capitals lets talk canada sometime and yes we had the strap, chalk thrown at us and had to stay till 4 sometimes, go work on a farm and get away from the luxury of a computer and u to appreciate this country for what it is,,,come up and visit sometime, and yes things were black and white back in the day, and if a teacher or principle disciplined a kid the parents did not rag out on the principle or teacher because in many small towns the understanding was when they dropped their kids at school they entrusted their kids to the people within the school system my brother in law had years of schooling experience he was hit in the face by a certain person who did not respect our customs, he went to the hospital and died not long after..he taught in the scarbourough area so lets fish together sometime and I will show u my grandfathers medal from the war..and this is so unusual that Ciffs thread went this way, may be instead of talking about the old lady out west maybe someone could actually reach into their walley and help the lady instead of just talking cheap behind a keyboard, just challenging some strong talk, maybe open up your wallet. think before u respond off the cuff and womens body parts were not in Cliffs initial thread really
  14. only in your own mind, when living in ontario we had many different nationalities at our wedding. it was in rexdale hello for your information the Syrians own the majority of the taxi business up here and they are great guys, come up here one day and I will take u around town u might get rid of periffial vision, and yes when one has loose lips u might want to walk the walk and see the world for what it is, tell me when u want to come up u can stay with us, but before u do give respects to my daughter in the vaughan cemetery,, and i hope u have a policing or military back ground if u do we might get along i will not talk behind a glass screen any more but if u care to look at the positive words and encouragement i have contributed over the years, even thru true adversity u have some ground to make up, not i, my time will be devoted to my family from here on in, i only hope u are as sincere in life
  15. its people like u that make this board like on a previous thread i said if people could brain storm, and u nailed it if u cant do it in the winter do it in the summer, hats off to bud
  16. another trick that works up here is make a couple of card board sleeves to fit around the tanks, do the base also, then they slide on and off put them over room temp tanks, keeps the cold of them for a bit longer before they gel up tried sliding a merino wool sock over then a slightly larger card board sleeve works pretty darn good on the blue bottles and hang the full tanks , up inside your hut so the rising heat keeps the gas flowable when u need to screw on a new one
  17. Even my wife comes out fishing with me at -40s, without a hut, thats when the real fishing begins, had ice on the little lake behind us since mid October, but yes it has recently been very mild, too mild, but you guys have had huge temp changes in the last 2 weeks, hard for the body to climatize for sure , we are temporarily living in the banana belt no doubt Crazy weather for u guys back in ONT, so mild a couple of weeks back like in Ottawa and so cold just 2 weeks later for the canal festivities
  18. your hair looks like the tree line up here, trees on one side and nothing but snow on the other call ya bigfoot from now one lol how the heck can u walk into the frame
  19. Bunk u are also the salt of the earth, as someone cool once said, yes we knew he would not be around forever but in the last few months his life according to the doctors just was fast forwarded, kinda caught all of guard, he taught me all about hunting fishing making the most of everyday and most importantly. to be a giver in life and not a user I will pm u tomorrow U are one class dude
  20. thx so much I survived the passing of my daughter, and am having the pleasure of having my 20 year old back with us things keep getting better on the home front, yes the doctors may be wrong and he might have a bit longer but he gave me some great times and memories and for that i am thankful
