  1. Wonderful post Nick, nothing like getting out for the first time of a new season, those fillets look amazing, looks like good times were had by all. Great pics thx for posting
  2. Irishfield said it best it becomes a popularity contest, like in school,,,,,everyone who contributes is important, and yes I will find the ability to post my own pictures, it is not always about volume but of sincerity and effort and integrity
  3. Brian I guess we could try margarine yuck :tease:but desperate times for despirate measures lol I tried to clear the pms but obviously my attempts were frugal sos assistance appreciated Mike we use the propane bottles for a bit of heat to warm hands up on the ice or to boil water for a T or to boil hot dogs for a nwt version of a tailgate party. as Dave will tell you my hide is weathered, I don't use a hut lol
  4. Your right Chris That's why we left Ontario, smog traffic etc but considering the amount of fishing up here u would think the few stores that are up here would order more stock that is winter related for the winter ,,yes Chris got tired of regular Barrie to Toronto or Toronto to Oakville runs for sure , but not having adequate propane supplies for the winter recreationalist,,,,,,,,,,,the shelves will be buck naked for 3 to 4 weeks, not a lot of fore planning
  5. Caught a nice laker today in 72 ft of water, hopefully Rick can post the pic for me because it is too challenging on our computer, Brian u would be proud Anyways have a trout, but cannot find a store in town that has BUTTER yes Butter, and then we go to find a pre packaged dry batter yes fish crisp BUT again the stores are sold out,,,,,then we go to get some Coleman green bottles of propane BUT no one has them THEN CTC says they wont have any till the END of JANUARY ,,,,,,,WTH,,,,,, so no fish fry tonight There are some hoarders up here for sure Dear Santa I would like a stach of butter, propane and fish crisp for Christmas Thank you Dave for bringing up some sweet onion salad dressing which has become extinct up here And there is a demand according to our lovely grocery store manager for butter producers, I don't know if he is correct or not but for the last 2 weeks the shelves have been empty lol The co-op has some watered down butter but no Enjoy the luxuries in life Hope u guys get some ice that is safe real soon down south
  6. You live in a piece of paradise, beautiful surroundings, awesome catch, good on ya
  7. Mike I am in there as well,,,,and the cost of the flight will be cheaper lol
  8. Its frustrating waiting for the lakes to freeze but wait, not worth the risk, we only have 15 inches or so up here on some lakes some have a little more some a little less,,a couple of lakes we were driving on last winter with the truck in December are still not truck worthy with overflow etc but that should change by weeks end one of the ice roads in town was even 2 weeks behind last years opening , definitely a warmer winter across the board Be safe and use common sense
  9. Hunting, fishing, loving every day by Luke Bryan I think this was already posted by Brian but its worth it
  10. Congrats on the outing. Great results for sure Open water in January is a little frustrating for the hard water fisherman. But not uncommon as mentioned 17 years ago I was fishing open water at the end of the finger docks in Barrie at the end of January The next day a buddy of mine called and said go buy the Toronto star. I said why he replied there is a picture of u in it. The caption read "one lonely fisherman waiting for winter". Fortunately the photographer got my best side. My backside lol Still have it. Wish I could post it Glad u had a great day

  14. Ch312 we just have a couple of very small wreckers up here but I will check again. Sounds like it would do the trick the way u described for your trailer Fisherman this also I will see if a wrecker has one in alta. maybe get one cheap and have sent up on a transport Thx both of u
  15. Thx everyone for your ideas Kinda like the bed liner idea but up here they are as rare as a dodo bird but would be a great fix Might have to go with plywood strips or just snow Thx again. Getting a little tired of walking out on the ice when there are to older decent sleds in the yard and a good trailer sitting in the driveway lol

  18. thx FloatnFly,,measured but it will put the skis to high for the tie downs Freshtrax u might be onto something,, it would give me the clearance I need and would stop the carbides from sticking in the wood
  19. Bought a new rainbow atv/sled trailer from down south in Alta in the summer It has a steel pull out ramp at the rear, its a flat bed trailer no tilt Question Royal has a super glide 11 pro kit for the ramp BUT could I get away with ripping 2 long 1/4 inch strips of plywood PER ski with a half inch gap between them so the carbide would not touch the trailer deck and stick.. I would need 4 strips per sled It would be cheaper Thoughts and experience appreciated Happy New Year John
