G. Mech we just watched the news. cbc national at six , my quoted numbers were what I quoted , so I have not lost all my marbles lol, but the true costs as u have quoted could be much higher
-
No matter what party is in power ,many are university graduates with others in the cabinet being well versed in their trades, before u say a dollar figure to the public before or after an election should they not crunch real numbers wife called me earlier with the same numbers I mentioned but the news media have been known not to all agree at the same time for all the latest released facts, bottom line its going to cost crazy amounts more than originally predicted

I wish I could post a pic of our furnace after the year my wife and I have had, last week stuffed a rag in a tube so the furnace does not go out and then put new batteries in our carbon monoxide tester hoping according to a furnace guy we don't get carbon monoxide poisoning, we were clearly told not to put the furnace door on, be a big mistake, maybe after never collecting a cent for EI or any other charity maybe the govt will cough up some funds for furnace repairs the good Lord only knows we have paid enough taxes over the last 30 years as all of u have too I feel sorry for all of us tonight because we will have another month added on to the callender year before the money we make is actually our own, I am all for helping people but when will the govt ever be up front with us except for their personal gain
-
Just watched Global news Maybe they being the news cast made a mistake but they claimed the election promise of bringing the refugees here for 100 million will after all is said and done will be 687 million, hand in our pockets, hand in our pockets

Good one Dan

Soon to be 38 lol If I was confident we could stay here I would look into a windmill, solar panels, but then how many years does it take to re coupe your investment to the stage u start coming out ahead On an off note we have do drive approx. 1 1/2 hours south to cut wood if we were going to offset a different bill being heating oil
-
Yes it's crazy but our bill of 345 for the month is just hydro not including heat
-
I know this has been covered before but just curios what your total monthly winter hydro bill is The 3 of us have 1 shower each per day Oil fired furnace Usually just have one light on inside at night Hardly use dishwasher Put clothes on drying racks over registers to dry Have electric hot water tank And yet our last bill was 345.00 for the month Ouch Water levels r low and diesel is being used to generate power
-
They are already talking how this will be putting more people out of work esp in the already hard hit province of Alberta which has a domino effect I agree hh we have to look after the environment but we have to include jobs and economic growth into the same recipe
-
Headhunter said it best That presentation would have any vegetarian turn into a MEAT EATER,, :tease: Looks terrific, only thing missing is an extra plate lol
-
I agree with u Mike Pike re coverage Mr Borger from previous posts I know u have been a die hard Hamilton fan for years , just don't take the iv out till the nurse says so lol, I hear a good prescription to get over the pain is a fishing trip or two with some guy called Drifter :tease:
-
Mike I was cheering for Hamilton also but considering where Ottawa came from last season I am sure they will give it their all in Winnipeg The cfl is one great league often overlooked except for those that watch lol
-
Dave can't bring up the link
-
I don't know who had more fun , u or Rolo
-
Thought the old football thread might be on fire The Hamilton Ottawa game would meet or surpass any NFL playoff game but no response, Edmonton played a great game also, Calgary came back in the 4th but acted a little to late The eastern game came totally down to the last 2 minutes On Sunday I will cheers loud for everyone lol
-
Are bullheads and burbot not different,,,I thought they were but I have been wrong before lol we have caught burbot around 3 to 4 pounds
-
Mike I can appreciate your frustration with vacation and all the other stuff u have been thru but ,, 1 If it were me I would as mentioned get new bearings and seals, no way u just do a job half right because u will just redo it again, if your already in there do it right 2 Inspect carefully the lower end, before u do just the bearings and seals, and if you are not 100 percent on what to do and all the specs which are very important personally with it this late in the season I would have the pros look at it now as opposed to the spring when they are booked up to their ying yangs in work and possibly rent a boat or even take a charter if one is available, I realize the extra expense of that 3 I would have it serviced now, wait for ice fishing and now you are good to go in the spring just my thoughts. I have found u cannot rush into a repair because u will just rush into another one
-
Beauty, good for u, that's one fish I never was able to catch :tease:but that's not surprising
-
Fisherman,,, a guy we saw a couple of times last year ice fishing has one and loves it I was totally surprised at its capability Yes Rick I am with you the auger seems to draw them in
