  1. LOL….I had to change spark plugs the other day while we were out on the lake, made a SHOCKING discovery when I touched one of the coils while it was running….probably why each one has a sticker on it saying don't touch…..lol….DARWIN AWARDS!
  2. Yup, was worried I'd get all kinds of questions asked when I bought a second hand one a couple years back, but it really is as simple as walking in and saying "its homemade".
  3. Glad it came together for you Cliff, this forum is a great place for sure.
  4. Nice fish there Daveybouy….must get me a smoker next year.
  5. Its gonna be a brutal winter again….they is already talking about the dreaded 'Polar Vortex' here again.
  6. Holy chunky munkies! Nice fish….looks chilly.
  7. Some nice basses you guys got. Thanks for the in depth report….great read and great pics.
  8. Thats really cool….almost makes me want to go musky fishing(almost).
  9. Looks fantastic TJ…Camp Jiggy is a GEM!
  10. Congrats, really nice pike!
  11. Hi all, Took the family out to a tiny local lake 5 minutes up the road for a calm evening relaxing and hopefully seeing the bobbers go down. Plan came together and the stress of the day was gone in the hour we spent out there together. Nothing fancy, jigs, minnows and slip bobbers with the big one going to the missus with a leech. Fish were on the edge of the weeds in 12' FOW.
  12. Thanks man, I did not even ask him to get the net or how to jig….he does just have it! Thanks John, we're very lucky to have this on our doorstep. LOL…thank goodness for Moosebunk, you have a way with words dude. Thanks Tomcat!
  13. Tragic http://ckdr.net/news/index.php#31982
  14. Thanks! Yeah, in the past year or so we have been really getting into things together, he's got a very unique outlook on the world. He is also unbelievably empathetic of other people's feelings and a considerate, well behaved mini dude who loves the outdoors, bugs, mud etc.....we are very lucky to live where we do right now. Exactly! Definitely what I think life is all about, and Jack is developing a real attachment and understanding of the natural world. Thanks Mike, it does take a while to wittle down over an hours worth of video clips and organise them into manageable sizes, but well worth it as they are priceless memories. Thanks, appreciate the comments!
  15. Hi all, Went to Lac Seul yesterday with my five year old son Jack. We had such fun, fished a little, parked on an island, swam, built a raft, explored and then fished some more. Very proud dad here......video is long, but fun.
  16. LOL…I said seriously because the location is pretty obvious….no in fact I explicitly say where I am in the report and provide great big pictures and videos of the location….read the post and you will know….……"Pier" and "Erieau" are both in the video titles and the main text I wrote….the info is all there if you look.
  17. Definitely the minnow bucket/leeches and crawlers keep my 5 year old amused for hours to my wife's utter disgust and dismay!
  18. Pete needs to just relax a bit, maybe listen to some music……... (The guy at 0:55 looks familiar….maybe someone from the forum has a secret passion….Bruce?)
  19. Welcome to the board cptpronin. I love shore fishing too….look forward to more pics and reports. Tight lines, Simon. (aka Limey)
  20. I'm terrible like that too...usually give in and welcome the day at Lew O'clock too.
  21. Hi all, If you have not been, Ripley's Aquarium in Toronto is well worth a visit.
  22. LOL...'ledgering'.....thats a term a have not heard in years.....thanks....trip down memory lane. I used to stay up all night too, our house backed on to the Thames at Putney. I guy from across the street caught some HUGE ones on cheese or liver, i would just dig up worms in the garden and catch 'bootlace' eels all night. Was never a fan of them, could never get past the look, smell and texture. Tried smoked a few times when I lived in Holland...pretty good.
  23. Hi all, Was good fishing at the pier on holiday at Erieau, but was awesome to get into back to back 27"+ walleye again a bit closer to home. Took an hour to find them yesterday, but non stop action for half an hour or so when i did, all in all a pretty decent 2 hour fishing session by any standard me thinks. As i said, 8th oz jig(brown was the best colour) 26' - 28' FOW, large sucker/dace minnows and the odd jumbo leach.
  24. Thats pretty cool to see. I used to catch those on the Thames in London(England), turn over any rock on the beaches of the Thames and there were at least 2 elvers under there resting from their journey from the Sargasso sea.
