Great report MJL....love the colours on those trout. the fish's markings in the 6th picture in the series are incredible...i have a musky bait painted identically (almost)
-
nice fish...certainly does look a little "choppy" out there...lol.
-
Thanks JB...like i said we never really tried for trout in the end, we gave it a token effort of half an hour, but the high winds (gusting to 45kmh) anywhere else on the lake apart from the shore we were on made it difficult to go exploring. Thanks Rick....thought you might like that one. good job on the walleye the other day whilst soaking for trout...maybe this year we'll get out...lol...we say it every year but never do...lol.

Hi all, Went to try for some bass and lakers in a small local lake, we had never fished this lake before so decided to try for bass first so we could at least work out the depths of the shoreline water as we cast our lines around and see if we could locate baitfish, suspended fish on the sonar. Well....we never got round to catching any trout, we did not even try actually, the bass fishing was so good from the 3rd cast onwards. We were both using gulp 3" minnows on a jig and landed well over 40 smallmouth in 3hrs, nothing over 18" but a blast none the less. ONE OF THE BESTEST DAYS BASSIN I'VE HAD ...EVER! <param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385">

Shucks ...lol...but seriously...i would almost kill to get to do that!...all my favourite species from shore...love shore fishing for some reason...always have. I've only ever caught a few accidental whitefish from the boat...its just difficult to access the whitefish lakes in summer...winter you can skidoo to most lakes here..so to have a fishin' hole like that would be heaven, please go again and film it so i can drool and be slightly...lol...jeeeeeelous.

Hi all, went out with my buddy Al again...this time we did not bother even trying for the elusive crappie and got on with the business of catching some smallmouth.....the bass certainly were in the mood to bite today, despite the freezing, wet and windy conditions. Bait was jig and rubber shad and gulp minnows.....Al made me laugh... he said he's finally found a fish stupid enough to eat Gulp! Too cold and tired to write much else...here's some video of todays adventure <param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344">

Hi all, i've all but given up on the crappie search till the weeds emerge and the water warms up a bit more. Went looking again, but knowing the bass were biting in the same lake only devoted 2 hrs to the (again unsuccessful) search. We caught around ten each, best one at 18" went to my buddy Al, but i got a nice 17" one and a 29" northern to get team 5 a few points...gawd knows we need 'em with all the trout being entered recently. Anyway....nothing complicated as bait, orange and chartruese thumper tail shads on a jig was all that was needed, find the shorelines where the White Pine is growing....usually where the rocky/boulders are...and voila...BASS!...great day out. My buddy Al had not fished for bass in over 20yrs...he had a blast....now converted...lol...he's been to the tackle shop and is busy buying braid, mepps spinners and and beetlespins for our next bassin adventure tomorrow morning on a lake i've been saying i'd like to put the boat into every year but always dont....soooo...till tomorrow heres the vid and pics we managed to get before rain forced the camera back into shelter....lol. ANOTHER FUN DAY! <param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"> A FEW PICCIES
