Hi all, Went out for a couple of hours at 3pm. Was not expecting to catch anything....as i'd skunked for walleye the last 2 times i'bve been to this lake in the last 2 weeks. I was however under orders to get supper......pressure was on! The pressure increased because i managed to get a decent eater (16") on the ice almost immediately...then NADA for about half an hour until the BEAST hit, holy man was she a big girl....28" long and probably the same around...belly on it was huge....MY NEW ICEFISHING WALLEYE PB!!!! well pleased with that. The reason the pressure had increased though is i could not bring myself to keep her...back she went and i still needed another fish(at least ) for supper purposes. Well i got another about 16" and supper was delicious tonight, great little session again...and got the walleye skunk off my back in style. I always seem to do sooooo much better when i fish alone....weird...but true. Here's some pretty crappy video and a couple of pics. <param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzlQC8QTy50?fs=1&hl=en_US">

Hi All. Got out for 2 hours today, same lake as my other trout reports, but its a nice ride door to door across the lake right from the house, no loading/unloading trailers etc, which given my windows of opportunity these days is perfect. The ice formed late this year on this lake, and happened during a real cold snap of about a week when we actually had no snow either...result, thick clear ice. This is really cool cuz when you shovel the spot for the shelter its window clear beneath your feet, watching the fish come up when they get to 20' below the ice is awesome! Fished in 57' FOW. Nothing really even on the graph for the first hour, tried a rattle trap lipless crank...got my first trout on it...the shine and rattle i think rang the dinner bell. Then the 'action' started...lots of bait on screen, lots of missed fish, got a couple of 25" and a ling too...then packed up and went home to sleep ready for night shift Here's the vid from this morning. <param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4USeBnCjfTA?fs=1&hl=en_US">

limeyangler replied to Fisherpete's topic in General Discussion
Tyler is you double Pete. Great pics....boat is a bit ugly.....JUST KIDDING...i'm jealous is all! -
Awesome little machine...looks pretty much mint for the year....good deal right there! I have been wondering whether to get a little fan cooled 340 too...but up here an old beat up Elan goes for around $ 1500
-
What the hell is 'soccer'? Oh......you mean football Nice erm..ride.

Hey Mike, i think this sums it up perfectly. Keep the reports coming...i also appreciate that you regularrly reply to posts i put up. I read your post yesterday but was in 'surf' mode as opposed to 'reply' mode, it was on my to do list as i try to reply to all fishing report threads as i know how much time they take to put together...Gawd only knows how Moosebunk finds the time....lol....and i know i have not replied to some of his...SHAME ON ME. Like Rizzo says though, this post being a case in point....if it asks for opinion or initiates debate its more likely to get a response, cuz fishing reports tend to be self explanatory.
-
Great report Mike! Lol..i just finished reading you 'rant' post. I saw this post yesterday and it was on my to do list tonight to reply. I dont think i have ever got on the ice before sun up like your pic with the Pike...good job... i always plan to but then i forget the minnows/wallet/etc.... pick up smokes from the tackle shop...get chatting...etc...etc... You have inspired me to try and accomplish that feat this season!
-
Great report Cliff. Nothing better than a day on the ice with good company and a few fish too.....what more can a guy ask for?
-
I dunno about what was said above, i own a Canyon 2007. Love It! Pulls my 16' boat no probs...and i drag my boat through the bush....NWO. I can get to Winnipeg and back on a tank. Its a quad cab...plenty of room. Its not very sophisticated on the interior compared to say a dodge or toyota (dakota or tacoma) the the straight five 3.7 is way better on gas ...i know people with both those vehicles. Thats my take on it. Once again my only complaints are to do with the plasticy interior and lack of bells and whistles for the price, but as a tool thats GOOD on gas in my experience its an awesome little truck!
-
Good job Misfish. Now i wanna go get some whitefish!
-
Nice pike Long, great intro. Welcome aboard
-
Thanks Rich, certainly hope so....i'll just ease him into it so he does not get put off....there have been many good posts on here about how to first get kids into it, then keep them interested without boring them into hating it. Thanks SM, i am biased...lol....but i have to agree..he's damn cute! LOL...Moxie...i can totally picture that scenario, i'm pretty sure he's gonna be in the boat lots this summer....he talks about the 'bye-bye boat....all done....summer" still...he loved the boat...just attention span and steadiness and mobility/safety were the issue last summer.
-
that underwater footage is awesom....and my local tackle guy needs to get real...he wants $7.99 for one of those Northland Minnows!
-
That was amazing...way cool! Do you have to be using a mac to use quicktime pro? I also have a Canon, and the .MOV format causes me no end of hassle since i'm on a PC.
-
That sled is too nice. Is it not bad for a sled to run on bare ice like that though, i welded my track to the sliders a couple years back driving on hard pack snow/ice...or is that just sumfink that happens with older crappy sleds....like mine. Anyway....awesome sled, awesome pics...hope supper was good...of course it was...fresh fishies....mmmmmmmmmm. Nice one Joey.
