  1. Ok...i'm gonna "piss off" fishing as soon as i drink this morning coffee
  2. Yeah Jacques, we got out at arond 2:40pm, it was fish, fish, fish, fish on at 3pm for 15 minutes then i went and said "i need one more" and the switched was flicked...to OFF...apart from the whitie right at the end....neither of us even saw a fish (Carmon my buddy had his new X67c out for the first time). I dont keep fish unless i know i will consume them within 48hrs....i never freeze fish...lol...no need to the amount i get out, the walleye were kept as a thank you gift to a work colleague, but yeah...it was a decent size one, especially for that lake. Thanks SP, i'm a little envious of you folks down there in that you are close enough for G2Gs! Post that report soon k? If i had a nickel for every time that Danc guy said meet for coffee i'd be.........LOL....just kiddin' Danny boy, have a merry Xmas! Erm...yeah ...about the one hand unhooking teqnique...cough...cough... Thanks Old Man, sent a PM to ya.
  3. Our CT sucks, they bumped it up from $11 to $15.49 in one shot! And i'm out of the 10 cans i bought at around $6 each across the border last summer.
  4. Awesome vid Jacques. You put me to shame, i never get anything but fishing done, my leaky shower really needs doing....i continue to procrastinate and fish
  5. Great stuff Ben! Good to know you got ice up there now. I think we are gonna venture a bit further out on the sleds on Sunday too...we drilled through 9" of ice today, good ice too. Those are beauty walleye, i think my darters and jiggin raps are gonna get their first workout on sunday too, just need to get to 40' -50' FOW...thats where they were last year. Great report as usual. Happy Holidays Simon.
  6. Snuck back to the same spot of my last 2 previou reports...its relatively easy access to walk and we know the ice is good. Same set up, jigs and minnows on the drop off at 20'-25' Fow. No big girls showed today but i got supper . Mysteriously Carmon only got one hit, guess i had the honey holes today. Here's the vid. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6F0yET2L_II?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6F0yET2L_II?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6F0yET2L_II?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
  7. Fantastic Lew! Sounds like your loving your new digs.
  8. good one Joey, my wife will enjoy that one too.
  9. Ok..i have no idea what/where Nosbonsing is...i assume its a Lake...but JohnnyB is up there this weekend too i think....you cant miss him...he'll be the guy being outfished by the marvelous LakeJess who will also be in attendance. Anyhoo...tight lines this weekend! JD.....its not intentional(well maybe i do get a little kick out of it...hehe) but i know how it is waiting for the ice as long as we did this year....soon friend...soon...hang in there buddy!
  10. Hey Bfishermen, I dont know Simcoe but as far as bait goes, i dont think there is a laker anywhere that wont bite a white 4" salted tube jig. Whitefish in my experience can be more fussy, it would help to have a variety, mini tube jigs, swedish pimple, williams half/half spoons, badboyz to name a few, dont be afraid to use bigger baits for whities either, last year a buddy of ours was getting them on 4" white tubes too. I'm sure others will chime in, just a few things there that have worked for me.
  11. Awesome dawesome, sounds like a hoot! taking the bubba huh? GOOD MAN! Cant wait for the report...man i love icefishing!
  12. TJ...love the rant. What gets me is some of the folks up here in Dryden that complain about the weather and cold year in year out...WHAT? MOVE! to Toronto...lol.
  13. Good to hear BL, i know Carmon and tyler hit Bear Narrows last weekend, with all the -20 days and -30 nights the last week everything should be locked up good and safe soon, i still dont think we will get to use the ice road before new year here in Dryden though. I'll see ya the summer after next then Corvy. My wife's folks are in London and St. Thomas. My father in law has a trailer in Erieau, went out for bows 3 years ago...was awesome.
  14. LOL...yeah...i thought that was funny too when i was replaying the video, just the ramblings of a guy spending too much time alone. Not long for you guys now Smarty Pantz....looking forward to your ice reports, for someone as addicted to fishing as you(a very healthy addiction i might add) i imagine they are gonna be good. I didn't get my limit in the end Jacques, left with a 17" and two small ones...enuff for a feed. As for the ciggy pack, it wasn't there when i left...thats for sure! Where ya goin JB? i think you already told us all but my brain has frost bite.
  15. I'll make a mental note Ahhh...i've seen these symptoms before, its the beginnings of a breakdown of denial, you'll be out there drilling holes soon . Sorry Disco....i'm not in the swing of the icefishing reports just yet, your right...i'm being vague to say the least, the fish were at 20' to 25' FOW. Its a pretty much flat muddy bay....a nice drop off from the shore provides the only real 'structure', we just fished there because of being uncertain of ice thickness elsewhere on the lake, as the good spots are too far to walk out to. White jigs and tail hooked minnows were the ticket, although i did get a hit from a whitiefish on a Yum mini tube and hooked a pike on the same lure as seen in the picture. thats the one i use too, will take the time to do it next time. Thanks Corvy
  16. Hi all, Snuck out to the spot we hit on Sunday. No whitefish today, i did see a couple on the x67, they chased but would not commit. However, where the whitefish were scarce the walleye took up the slack. I'm gonna promise myself to re-tie my fluro leaders with the correct knot in futeure...i lost 2 monster walleye right at the hole today, one was close to 30" for sure! bummer. Mind you i dont think i would have kept it, even though i needed just one for my limit, three keeper size is enough for the wife and me, i just would have liked the picture! Here's the pics and vid.....i fished for exactly 2 hours, started slow but as the sun set, the fish turned on......was an awesome sunset on another chilly (-26) afternoon. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GY8UMSjLu4s?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GY8UMSjLu4s?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GY8UMSjLu4s?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
  17. Funny how that goes, until you realise you have frost nip because you were not registering the cold. Man...thats awesome, will definitely take you up on that some day Corvy. You anywhere near London Ontario? Ahhhhhhh......Jan 1st....LAKERS!!!!!!! Your lucky Mike, nobody in my family fishes or has the remotest interest in fishing, makes me wonder how i got to like it so much, lol, maybe cuz i knew none of the family would ever want to come with me! But seriously, must be good to get out with your bro, i'm hoping my son is into it, at the moment its all about snowmeans (thats how he says 'snowmachine')
  18. Yup, i think it is a base camp. I was impressed by the material, way hardier than my Otter. Its thick and heavy, almost felt rubberized, i'm guessing it is the thermal stuff, we had a sunflower heater in there, it was like a sauna!
  19. Nope, aint heard the Goon singing yet, was kinda hoping to. As we left the lake we were on in the report we did hear 2 big booms, music to my ears. But that lake is deeper than the goon, we were not sure given the lack of snow and realtively thick 'good' ice whether it had frozen over after the dump of snow. It could have just been that the winds were out of the N and NW when the snow flew, blowing it out of the bay we were in...the debate raged while we were out there....alls i know is its a lousy start to the year as far as ice is concerned. PS....ive sent you a PM.
