  1. Arty, on the weekend there were guys catching 40-60 white bass at the train bridge. We caught 5 in the 2 days but day one we only had worms. Need minnows for them.
  2. Hardly even dented the hood on the 1959.
  3. Geez, we all feel soooo bad for you that you have to go soooo far from home to catch your limit of walleye. LOLO you guys both live in fish heaven.
  4. x2. Would be exactly where I would tell you to go. You can also try around the Lavase launch. You'll find pike in the river.
  5. My lilacs opened in the front yard yesterday. I guess that means we're good to go.
  6. Water temp is 11 degrees and air is 13 now. It will make for a huge difference if we get up to 24 degrees like they are calling for. May keep the fishies really shallow in the warmer water. Thanks for that info. Can you please post or PM me the link to get that info.?
  7. <br clear="all"> MNR News Release ******************** Six residents from the Temiskaming Shores area have been fined a total of $2,100 for having too many walleye and sauger on Lake Abitibi and for lying to conservation officers. Lawrence J. Belanger, Jeffrey M. Belanger, Wayne J. Belanger, Scott W. Belanger, and Stanley C. MacKewn of New Liskeard and Lori-Ann Roy of North Cobalt pleaded guilty and were fined $150 each for possessing an over-quota of walleye and sauger and $200 each for making false or misleading statements to conservation officers. The court heard that on March 20, 2011, all six were ice-fishing on Lake Abitibi, east of Cochrane. Conservation officers watched the group catch and keep a number of walleye and sauger. The group was seen cleaning and cooking 20 of the fish. When the officers checked the group, they were found to be in possession of 15 walleye in addition to the fish they had eaten. Under their licences, the group could possess four walleye and/or sauger each for a total of 24 fish. Including fish that were consumed, the group had possessed 11 fish over their limit. When questioned by the officers, each member of the group denied having eaten any fish. Justice of the Peace Dolores Boyuk heard the case in the Ontario Court of Justice, Cochrane, on May 12, 2011. The public is reminded that any fish eaten while fishing must be included in the possession limit and that it is an offence to deliberately mislead conservation officers. To report a natural resources violation, call 1-877-TIPS-MNR (847-7667) toll-free any time or contact your local ministry officer during regular business hours. You can also call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Glad they were caught. You never know how long the C.O.'s are watching you for???
  8. Ya I was at Discount today. I'm just thinking it is too early for them. I may be wrong if you're nailing them on leaches send me a text. Didn't ask how much. Some huge ones too Joey.
  9. I hit the bait shop this morning and picked up 3 dozen worms. I passed on the leaches (even though they looked really active) as I think a slow presentation will be the best shot at eyes. Maybe just a jig with a stinger hook tipped with a fat worm lying on the bottom. If the walleye are not cooperating I'll turn to pike.
  10. Hubba Bubba or Bubblicious? The other day I was chewing some hubba bubba and I got to thinking. It got stale pretty fast and stuck to my teeth. Then I remembered bubblicious. Wow what a great gum. I love the way the flavor stayed and it was great for blowing bubbles. I like aluminum. I had a fibreglass bow-rider and now have a STARCRAFT fishing boat. I love it.
  11. Cute pic.
  12. When I was a young father (8 years ago I thought it would be great to add 2 more lines while ice fishing. Well that didn't happend for 4 years. Even then when my son was 4 and he could bring in the perch it was more frustrating tending to 4 lines. He is now 8 and I give him one line while ice fishing. If he isn't too busy playing his video games then he tends to it. I have 2 boys now but the little one is just 2. This year I will try and bring my 8 year old out with me more often thenb I can legally have a 2nd line in.
  13. Im thinking there will be little to no weeds in the areas I'm used to fishing. I will be looking for small clumps of weeds and rocks as the walleye will want some structure.
  14. Only "bug"ging rought now not really biting. Saturday with the warm forcast may be bad for them but the rest of the weekend may be o.k. At least there is no snow in the forcast.
  15. Yesterday afternoon it was gorgeous here.
  16. Nice boat and nice whities.
  17. Gas?...check. Plug in?.....check. Batteries charged?.....check. Safety equipment?.....check. Fishing gear?....check. OFC sticker?.......yep. All set to go. Plug is in now. HDS5 is mounted on dash and boat is vaccumed and ready for slimin.
  18. Terrific pike fishing in Lake Nipissing, Lake Nosbonsing, and the Ottawa river (just east of Mattawa). Lots of lodges, and camp grounds. North Bay is about 3.5 - 4 hours from you. Kevin from LakAir may be willing to help you out. It would be about 5 hours for you.
  19. Nope he is still on ANOTHER team. "A" holes are for Team 2 ONLY lol.
  20. Yesterday I had some time to kill, so I inflated my 9' Quicksilver and uncovered my 9' punt boat. They are rough looking but they float. I have had both the motors (4hp and 8hp) running and I now have $60 worth of fuel in my big boat. I am ready for whatever the spring/summer throws at me. Now I just have to ask my wife if I can go fishing. (I surrendered my man card 5 years ago on my wedding day). Here is the step by step set up of the inflatable. It all fits into a canvas bag (except the floor) With a 28 lbs. thrust trolling motor. Stealth approach. Paddles and all. After partially inflating it I put in the floor. Then pump it "drum tight" with the foot pump. 20 minute set up time. Here is my 1984 Evinrude 8hp. The inflatable is rated fopr 10hp. Here is the punt boat. It is light but I added bar-b-que wheels to make it easier to move around. And here is the 1986 4hp with integrated tank I use on the punt. I have re-built the transom on it but I think it is only rated for a 5hp. I will try the 8 on it this year. Anyone want to go fishing? You have to ask my wife though lol.
  21. Short drive to Sturgeon Falls will have you fishing in my 17' Starcraft with me. P.M. if you are interested. I'll hit the Sturgeon river, Iron Island, and Sandy island weather permitting. Blair
  22. Come to North Bay. Lots of good areas to fishj and camp. Talon Lake, Nosbonsing, Nipissing (maybe not in a canoe) Marten River. Provincial parks should have tent spots open. Where ever you go add some inches to Team 2. Don't forget to print off a logo and put the necessary info. on it. Welcome aboard.
  23. Me too. I have 2 of them made from evestrough.
  24. Well there you have your answer. ?????
