  1. Try a white tube jig.
  2. Horwood lake, gowganda lake, biscotasing, French river,
  3. Truck Tonneau Cover. Not tunnel
  4. A squareback canoe or a 12' aluminum boat will go on the roof of your car easily. I've had a 12' boat on top of a Hyundai accent. Just put a couple 2x4's across and strap it down. A 12'er only weighs 130lbs.
  5. The section between Georgian Bay and HWY 69.
  6. Got up to Algonquin a week after opening season. After a grouling trip in (approx. 50klm), we finally arrived at our piece of paradise. Fishing was good but was hoping to catch a big one this year. My P.B is 5.9lbs, 26" and this year the biggest I managed was 20", maybe 3lbs? Oh well, was a really great time. I'm thinking about retiring this spot due to the difficulty getting in there. I'm going to go back to my old spot which is a longer drive but far less work for the same payout. Here are a couple pics.
  7. Beautiful weekend up in the french. Slow bite but we managed a bunch of smaller walleye, lots of nice bass, lots of small pike, and a 46" musky which is now my wife's P.B. All fish were released except for 2 unlucky walleyes that were great in the frying pan. Great time had by all. Saw a bear and a small mink i think. Here are a couple pictures of the nicer fish we caught.
  8. Just came back from that area. Fishing was slow but we got a bunch of walleyes, a few bass and a 46" musky. Will post some pics when I get a chance.
  9. I hit rocks everytime I go there and I've been going there for 7 years now. I'm always going slow and with my finder on. Haven't damage a lower end yet or a prop. But go slow if you don't know the area. Just when you think it's safe, bam, rock. It's an awesome place though.
  10. 30 days. I use a product called freshstart bought at TSC for the gas I leave in a Gerry can and in my boat can. It works great as a stabilizer. Probably the best stuff out there
  11. I've caught some big fish with an east wind but numbers have been very few. i agree with having a couple days of consistant weather and on that 3rd or 4th day, the fishing is best.
  12. I'm also heading in Thursday. Been watching the ice conditions for the last 3 weeks. Getting very anxious. Can't wait!
  13. Spell check
  14. Just wondering where I can take my boat out this week. Is wiarton ice free? Simcoe? Owen sound? Thanks
  15. I say rangers will take out Washington. And Vancouver will beat Tampa for the cup.
  16. There's no way you know what lake I go to. P.M me a let me know what you think. I'll tell you if you're right.
  17. Building one has been an option but i'd prefer to buy one. I've looked through all the designs and pictures on the web and I just want to go some where, look at one, and buy it. I have a bunch of materials to build one last resort.
  18. My buddy and I go into algonquin every spring and it's a real tough trip. We've managed to cut our total travel time from a 18 hour day to a 15 hour day. That's 3.5 hour drive and 11.5 hours paddling and portaging. We have 1 portage that is 5 klms long and it's fairly smooth and flat. If we could do this in one trip, we could cut another 2 hours off our total time. Does anyone know where I can get a durable cart to pull a loaded canoe through the bush? Some where in the Toronto area? I've found a few places to order them (U.S) but would really like to go check them out rather than order on-line. I do about 4 portage trips a year and a cart would help when I'm wife the wifey also. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks
  19. I think if you layed that fish down on a table, the tail would be square making it a brookie. It definately has a slight fork the way its hanging but I think it's misleading.
  20. The leafs blew their load early, they're done! Where's the hero Clarke Macwho been for last couple games? They aren't going to make the playoffs again. Go Rangers Go!
  21. What a beautiful looking river you've got there. You're very lucky.
  22. I love my Canon D10
  23. I wish I was going back up there. Awesome fishing. Non stop action. We used gulp and caught tons. No monsters for us though.
