  1. Hey Scugogboy! I'm just 20 minutes from that lake, so if time is short, I usually end up there! Welcome to the board...I suck at walleye on that lake...hope you like to give tips...LOL. Here's our board Anthem....it pretty much gives you an idea of what the board is like... Welcome to the board! Looking forward to seeing some reports and those pics you mentioned! Check out our OFC Anthem...it'll give you a good idea what this site is all about. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

  3. I have a 2.1 megapixel camera on my Nokia phone. It has a night mode and a flash....but both are crap. Takes great daytime pictures, but low light is still lacking. I'd suspect you'd need a real flash on a phone in order to get better quality pics....which would burn out your battery pretty quickly.
  4. Oh come on Grant...you know me better than that....LOL. It's good to see an actual fishing report from you again. You are still the king of Urban Pike. If we get out this fall, don't worry.....I'll bring a net...don't want your delicate hands to get hurt carrying one around.
  5. Good to see you again Scott! Was just a matter of time before the steelhead/brown reports came back. Hope to get out with you at least once this fall/winter. Congrats on the OOD magazine thing too...you'll have to scan the page when it comes out!
  6. Sure I believe you...LOL. Good on you for getting out there and catchin...that coho must have been a surprise! Ask for a digi camera for Christmas this year....haha.
  7. Great report Mike...the write up was amazing. I agree with Joanne...start submitting these to fishing magazines...it's THAT good! Cant wait to see part two...I'm sure the pictures will be great as well. Probably good the way you ended up structuring this post...lots of people go straight to the pics....this way I think more people read it first!!!
  8. I use 8 lb mono. Maximum leader I put on is 6lb. Never had any issues with the mainline at all.
  9. Yep...I am late!! Didn't see that tidbit of info in that thread Glen... At any rate, it still sucks....LOL.
  10. I know lots of places have snow already....but that was from lake effect. The first winter system is coming through the area this afternoon/evening and overnight. Five to 10 cm of the white stuff on the roads by morning rush hour...wont be pretty! The first snowfall always paralyzes Toronto....going to need extra coffee for sure!!! The snow tires are being put on the car as we speak....got it in there just in time it seems. Drive safe everyone...take your time getting to work. ===================================================================== Check for updates here..... http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/warnings/sws_e.html Special weather statement issued for.. City of Toronto Windsor - Essex - Chatham-Kent Sarnia - Lambton Elgin London - Middlesex Simcoe - Delhi - Norfolk Dunnville - Caledonia - Haldimand Oxford - Brant Niagara City of Hamilton Halton - Peel York - Durham Huron - Perth Waterloo - Wellington Dufferin - Innisfil Grey - Bruce Barrie - Orillia - Midland Belleville - Quinte - Northumberland Kingston - Prince Edward Peterborough - Kawartha Lakes Parry Sound - Muskoka. ..The first general snowfall of the season for southern Ontario.. An Alberta clipper over western Lake Superior this morning will make a beeline towards the lower Great Lakes tonight. Snow is expected to spread into southern Ontario during the day. It will reach the Golden Horseshoe area by this evening. Periods of snow should continue tonight before tapering to flurries early Thursday. Snowfall accumulations of around 5 to 10 centimetres are likely for many regions. The snowfall will tend to be rather wet in the shoreline localities along lakes Erie and Ontario including Toronto. This may limit accumulations somewhat in these communities. Snowfall amounts over eastern sections such as Peterborough Trenton and Kingston may be somewhat less as these areas will be near the edge of the weather system. In the longer term..A significant snow squall event is shaping up For Thursday and especially Thursday night and Friday for areas to the Lee of the Great Lakes. A snow squall warning will likely be issued this afternoon for the affected areas. Motorists should use extra caution later today and tonight due to reduced visibilities and potentially accumulating snowfall making roads somewhat hazardous. The Thursday morning commute may be longer due to slippery conditions and some snow accumulation. Listen for further statements. Additional information may also be found by consulting the latest public forecast. The next public forecast will be issued by 11 AM. END/OSPC
  11. Hey Snag...if you spent nearly as much time fishing as you do thinking up these replies, maybe we'd see an actual fishing report from you. Is it getting late in the season for a morning fish for pike?
  12. Hey there! Welcome to the board...I see you joined back in Feb, so if you've been watching, then you know this is the best one around. So...how bout a little about yourself? Where do you fish? Favourite species?
  13. They don't need maintenance...I just go and buy new ones instead....LOL.
  14. Thank you everyone....although I felt a little out of my element in a kilt, once I felt relaxed wearing it, I was able to settle my nerves down. A beer also helped out in that regard!!! I was honoured that they even asked me to participate, as I had attended this event in the past as a spectator only. I was proud to be able to help out and appreciated the opportunity. If they'll have me back again next year, I'd love to lend a hand in any way I can. Oh yeah...I was expecting more flak for wearing the kilt...bring it on...I can handle it....LOL
  15. Thank you for all you do as well! For me it was a small thing to be able to contribute...and a lot of fun at the same time!
  16. Last spring it took forever because of the daytime melting caused many of the creeks to be very dirty, even though there was no precipitation. No issue with daytime melting as of yet. Go fish and report on your experience!!
  17. Water shouldn't be blown tomorrow if the last major precip was Saturday in your area. In fact, it was probably prime today to fish. Not sure where you are thinking of trying but if it's not far, then take a drive to take a look...you just never know! Welcome to the board...hope to see a report from you soon.
  18. Hmmm...I have a 35 dollar pfleuger reel that I use for salmon, muskie, steelhead and big walleye. It takes a TON of abuse and it's still going strong after 2 years. I've never even taken it apart for a thorough cleaning. The only maintenance I do is oil whatever I see that moves. There is 30lb power pro on it as well for everything but steelhead....and I have a tendency to straighten hooks because the drag is set too tight.
  19. Great pics Dan! Sorry we missed the G2G this year as it looked like the fish cooperated...at least compared to last year!
  20. Oh man...hope everyone is ok Mike!!! Take care of them first...the report can wait.
  21. Welcome to the board! Looking forward to your reports in the future. If you haven't seen it yet, check out the board Anthem...just click on this link.... http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20250
  22. Welcome to the board!! Pull up a chair and stay a while. Check out our OFC theme song if you haven't heard it yet...pretty much sums it all up.... http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20250
  23. Glad to see ppl with fish this year at Quinte!!! Excellent report Wayne...looked like you guys had a blast out there this year. I was going to post no pictures no believe for your fish until I scrolled down and saw them....LOL. Some real BIG walleye this year guys....great stuff!
  24. Just so happens I may be free this weekend to head to Quinte...not that that should be a good reason to keep your boat in the water....LOL.
  25. Hey there!! I asked the same question about a year ago...with lots of good feedback...check out this link..... http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/index.p...c=12858&hl= Good luck....I went with a one piece....
