Been frozen for a long time. I'd have to look back for my post and pics I took on the day it froze over for a date. Sat at the f-in-laws on Christmas Eve, on the water front between Midland and Penetang Harbours, and it's frozen in every direction as far as you can see. I have no reports on ice thickness though, and haven't been into Midland to see if anyone is out there....but if you call Brian and ask him if he has bait for sale and if he knows how thick the bay is.. Some islands you need a licence.. some don't have a requirement. Should be able to do a quick search for each port of calls goverment site and it will tell you generally. Cancun I did a charter (you need a licence there)... 17 years ago... caught lots including a 6 foot sand shark. Haven't done the bahamas... did a deep sea charter in St. Martin with nothing but an empty beer cooler to show for the day...same deal in St. Lucia.

ZERO degrees or so for the next week ain't gonna help the cause either....

I just stayed home and sorted my ice fishing bits into my new fishing box that my daughter bought me. Fancied up my transducer with a mount system, so I'm ready to go next opportunity. There's no deal great enough to get me into a mall on Boxing day.
