  1. I don't. Why be putting something that deteriorates under something that will last for a few, or more, seasons. It (line) ain't that expensive in the overall picture of things...especially Muskie. Most say they put mono on as backing so the braid won't slip... I think it's a cost issue for them instead. Spool knot and 6" of electrical tape is what I learned, right here on OFC, or the spool lug if equipped...just don't get spooled ! I do all my lake trout/walleye trolling stuff the same way. Full reel of 30 lb PPro and do so by watching ebay close and grabbing 1500yrd spools of line. 2 or 3 years down the road... reel the line off one reel and onto another reverersing it's direction. How much does the line now cost compared to Mono changed every year... it's cheaper!
  2. 65 Steath wraps cleaner/evener than PPro. It's also limper than PPro. I've got PPro on all my muskie gear except my new trolling reel. If I had of fished with Thorpe before I bought that 1500 yard spool of PPro 80 they'd all have Stealth on them. I bought the 700B after fishing with Thorpe and loaded it with 65 Stealth. If it works for Marc 7 days a week at 6 MPH and 50" + fish... it'll work for me.
  3. Another rogue Revenue Canada agent collecting back taxes....
  4. Problem will be.. the insurance company generally only pays the repair shop directly less the deductible. You pay the deductible to the shop before they'll release it. Not too often the insurance company cuts a cheque direct, to the customer, for a repair.
  5. Getting low on fuel money for the TBeaver eh ! LOL
  6. I would have loaded a buggy up with every one on the shelf! ... OR were you just overhearing the conversation he was having with his wife??
  7. You lost me bud.. is Mike an Awesome guy or too Arrogant?
  8. I'm actually pretty sure the regs state open 'till the Sunday after the 3rd Saturday in March. ... but I left my print out at the lake. Can't help with the Sanctuary.
  9. Are you gonna throw out the ones you bought last year Darren... or grab another set of trays?
  10. About time someone volunteered to clean up all them dam cups !
  11. Didn't I read this with my morning paper? Great stuff Bunk, as always. What an adventure for you... and Bob !
  12. What a great day Shelley! Thanks for sharing.
  13. From what I understand Tinman, just like the comprehensive oil inspection program where they came in and made me dig up a perfectly good (installed to code at the time) oil line to my house and replace with the exact same thing but vinyl coated they are going to start doing natural gas comprehensive inspections in the near future. All the ABS systems will have to be swapped out to PVC or they'll shut the gas off just like they refused to deliver oil to my house without a comprehensive oil inspection report turned into your distributor. Could have been my oil guy trying to make me smile while digging 2 feet into December ground... could be fact!
  14. Heck.. who needs to have the ATM card scammed.. so I don't have one! But if you have Credit cards... just drop by the Midland NOCO gas station (can't believe the OPP buys gas there) and one of the gents will be glad to write down your credit card #, security code, remember you're a regular... go grab the phone book to get your address and then go online to Tiger Direct and try to buy some computer equipment. The savour for me was we come up in the Midland phone book... but live in Penetang and VISA flagged it. Tiger Direct only wanted me to confirm I had an order with them... so I guess flagged it as well with a different ship to address.
  15. Say what.. the likely hood of a total loss is far greater when an natural gas furnace fills your house basement with heavier than air gas and blows up when the tech presses the ignit button. I've never heard/read of an oil furnace burning down a house. Royal Sun Alliance and many others don't care what your heating source is and premiums don't change when you switch. I thought when I got rid of what I considered a dangerous oil stove at the lake and returned electric baseboard heaters to the policy as principal heat the premium should have gone down.... and when I added the new air tight wood stove it would have gone up (because there's a higher fire risk) and nothing changed in either case but the wording on the policy. They don't care.. just want your install specs and dimensions from flamables for the wood stove. I also have three wood fireplaces in my house, oil furnace, oil hot water heater, and the insurance company could care less. And by the way... now that they've pretty much run out on the money cow for the comprehensive oil inspections.... so we can all continue to get fuel for our oil furnaces.... they are now going after the high efficiency gas furnaces. Any installed with, I believe, ABS pipes will get the gas turned off in the near future if you don't swap those out. The pipes apparently dry out/ crank and CO your house!
  16. Can't give up 'lectricity... or someone would have to ride the generator bike pretty hard to run the whirl pool ! LOL
  17. I took an oil stove out of the cottage as I thought it unsafe. A furnace would be fine... but hauling out 5 gallon jugs of diesel/heating oil is taxing. I'd think a couple 100lb propane tanks would be your best bet and easier to maintain. Lake Temagami even has a propane delivery schedule to the islands.
  18. Lincoln New Hampshire I can help you with.. but not Ontario!
  19. Yah me too... all them lads out stirring up the bait in the fall on us!
  20. Bet I know what it says! LOL
  21. If you're gonna quote me kid.... have the decency to quote in it's entirety. Mittzu started this under the guise it was for awareness.. yet continued to make condescending posts to anyone that didn't agree with him and made a personal attack on Twilight. Reminds me of some young lad that asked for lots of financial advise and then crapped on everyone that offered it.
  22. Sept 5,6 and 7th. http://www.simcoe.com/article/64493
  23. Temagami district has a dog(s). They have a nice covered bubble cutter for him to ride in as well. Always with them before Lake Trout season opens and the dog can tell the difference between a whitie and a laker buried in the snow.... 100's of feet from where you're fishin!
