  1. "COLD".. it was only -5C today... but I hear ya. I think it was the dampness and that darn wind today. Was out for 8 hours on GBAY and very easy, when only -5c, to work up a sweat,,, socks get damp quicker etc.. = cold later. Some nice fish there Steve and crew. Another great outing.
  2. Pussy ! You made a smart move Bud. No problems and Krawler found me on the lake around 8:55. I plowed the laneway in anticipation of your arrival and came back to a good 6 inches in it again by 4PM. We couldn't see more than 400 feet on the lake so didn't move around much. Good to see you salvaged the day.
  3. Well you can.. but it gets expensive.. ! I'm still fairly new to this ice fishing thing.. going into my 4th season... but give me a lightly overcast..80 *F August day.. out in the boat and I'm good. A bikini clad, female, deck mate even makes it better!
  4. Looks like the usual zoo and we'll be no where near it. Headin for deep water... we hope. Gonna be a sled... stop... walk... drill.. stop walk drill...
  5. No Joey... but if you and Paul wanna head another hour North... Terry/Krawler and I are headed out on GBay...8am in my yard.
  6. Thanks for the report.... Pikeie's one of Dave's great lads. Story reminds me to throw a tow strap in the sled.. thanks !
  7. Musta been store bought Turkey eh........ .... .... ... .. .
  8. Well don't get too cheery Bernie... ya got stuck with me! I'll be out tomorrow with Terry and Krawler.. hope I can start us out... ..then heading North for the lake Thursday as well...so maybe just maybe a whitefish.
  9. There ya go Bernie... Bernie's Hut Rentals ! Just stop in Powassan, pay and receive your map to find it !
  10. Can't beat a day like that Mike... three generations on the ice with fish!
  11. Gee thanks Marty....
  12. We can argue all day about it Forrest. Not that you'd ever do that ! lol Doesn't matter what any of us think legal or illegal .... I'll wait for his MNR reply... but I'll also put $50 bucks on it that they say it's legal. You in? Use of artificial light to attract fish was written to stop people from using spot lights into the water to do so.. not a glow jig, lighted jig, spinner, float etc. A "lure" can be anything you've got below the water for angling. Remember you can take 4 hooks..... ANY combination of spinners trinkets and toys to make up said lure. It could be 20 feet long.
  13. So if you wanna get rid of that "grey area" throw a siwash hook on it. You are allowed 4 hooks on any line. They can be many feet apart if you so chose.
  14. Regs also state you can use a light "if the light is part of a lure attached to a line used in angling.
  15. Why would't it be part of your lure... you're not lighting your hut with it are you? LOL Is it not a lure body.. or is it a slip float. Either way no different than the floats with the light on top.
  16. Light that is part of a lure is LEGAL per MNR Regs.
  17. Looks like mine is one piece and the top where the hose hooks onto snaps into the tank. From there it's a clear tube straight down with screen on bottom. Tank appears to need about 1.5" of fuel to cover screen. If yours is the same then the tube is cracked.. broken off or similar. Unscrew your cap and have a look with a flash light.
  18. Yep.. must be new for this year. Wasn't in the 2008 price schedule.. but it's there on-line now http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/Business/LetsF...L02_164832.html Guess they figured that if we Ontarians had to have the plastic card for quick ID purposes everyone should. You don't need to get it in advance... you'll just have to fill out two applications when you stop at a tackle shop for your licence.
  19. Yep.. what Ron said. My GM has seperate fuses and relays for the trailer wiring. Under the hood..drivers side by the brake master cylinder.
  20. Try using Google Ric... lots of stuff comes up from days past.
  21. I find more adventure in just getting lost and finding my way back... Sure wish I knew where this was...
  22. Yah they do... but they are generally time x'd items out of some foreclosure etc. I've made the mistake of buying PA batteries and had them DOA !
  23. Great stuff Mr. Bartlett... now only 5 months to wait to use them !
  24. Forking Thorpe's Brother.... ..and Dano.. piss off.. oh and answer your email..
  25. Sometimes a hard find. Our local electric supplier.. Ideal.. doesn't carry them in stock.. but the local alarm place does for $$'s. I ordered mine online - Two x 8ah-12v for $37 and $13 shipping from Saskatchewan... so $25 each without leaving my chair and a trip to the post office to pick up.
