  1. There was a recent discussion on Sasseginaga Will: http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=68291&hl=wally&do=findComment&comment=769097
  2. Funny you mention that. I refuse to spend money on what I consider to be transition clothes. Value Village had a 50% off sale on Monday, I got an entire new wardrobe for $38 LOL!
  3. Hey good for you man I can relate. I've dropped 27 pounds myself since Dec 31 myself and am feeling great.
  4. Awesome. Doctor Braino goes ice fishing!
  5. Richter is a walleye factory with few equals but it's not a destination for trophy pike.
  6. Yes TJ I've used the double burner model for years and it's worked fantastically well with some modifications. The pump that comes with it isn't strong enough so I swapped it out for a much more powerful bilge pump. I also wired the pump so it can plugged in and used with a generator. That just made a lot more sense for my needs and it's worked great. If the water isn't quite hot enough because it's circulating through the heater too fast, I simply drop the shower head into my water source containing the pump, turn it on and let it circulate for a couple minutes. Nice and hot and TONS of water pressure. I also added an adapter so I can attach it to a bulk propane tank, works great. Can't say enough about the Zodi I've had mine for about 10 years now. It sees fairly regular use and has never let me down, I love it!
  7. Great game last night, was a lot of fun to watch. Full marks to the Sen's, Maclean is working miracles as far as I'm concerned. I just wish he'd trim his moustache, it looks like he has a wolverine on his upper lip.
  8. I looked at both boats last year at this time, but the 16' versions, main reason being my boat slip at our camp in QC fits a 16' boat perfectly. But that's neither here nor there. After researching both to death we went with the Smokercraft and are very happy we did.
  9. It's taking the good and lamenting the bad but never wavering. For better or for worse it's called being a Leaf fan and there's lots of us.
  10. It really was a good trip. My uncle who joined us passed away last month making this his last big trip. It will be cherished because of that.
  11. I'm sure he won't be unemployed for long. Smacks of desperation to me, but then sometimes change for the sake of change can be good. The bigger question with that team is Miller. He needs to keep his mouth shut and play the game or he'll be the next one gone.
  12. A really good friend of mine and one of the best anglers I know fished Sasseginaga for 10 straight years staying in one of Wally Mullen's boat in outpost camps. They always went in August which would undoubtedly be much different than early June. Neverheless he always told me he liked it a lot, beautiful scenery, large beautiful lake with VERY clear water. Fishing was always just "okay" in his words and the fish required work to catch. I distictly remember him telling me he'd located an untapped population of larger fish roaming deep water suspended chasing baitfish. He used planer boards a lot up there with great success trolling for those fish. That said he stopped going 2 years ago after I introduced him to Abamasagi lake just north of Nakina. He's been there twice now for 10 days. Longer drive, but walleye fishing in an entirely other class compared to Sasseganaga and cheaper rates.
  13. Wow that sucks. I guess we're screwed for that trip we talked about then.
  14. Kiosk in the north end of the park is way less busy than the others you mentioned which are along the hwy 60 corridor. My personal choice for car camping would be at Brent, also on the north side. Main reason being the campsites are very nice and Cedar lake is a big beautiful lake with good fishing for smallmouth, walleye and lakers. There are a couple of adjacent portage lakes with good brookie fishing. If you're interested pm me. Yes, you can use your larger boat with the 5 horse kicker. Just don't get caught firing up the big motor. If you're interested in using your big motor, Opeongo lake along the hwy 60 corridor is open to unlimited horespower. No, there is no car campgrounds on Opeongo. But you can drive right up to the launch and park right there. There's all kinds of beautiful campsites on Opeongo and some great beaches as well. If you needed anything you could always zoom back to the landing, there's a store there along with shower and washroom facilities.
  15. 35" steelhead (actually 351/2, I rounded down)
  16. Already have 5 trips booked for this year one of which is at the exact same time. If I could I'd love to.
  17. Hopefully someone steps up, Richter is a good one for sure. Still regret not making that trip myself a couple falls ago. Speaking with Eddie recently he'll be doing a bunch of improvements to the camp as well. Cheers
  18. Nice to see you on the OFC board Jeffrey, your map is outstanding. Cheers
  19. I've never heard of any issues arising transfering an existing LUP. I'd be shocked if there were.
  20. The application process to aquire an LUP is an entirely different thing than buying an existing one. What is it you are actually contemplating? To the best of my knowledge it's a fairly straightforward procedure buying an existing outpost and transferring the LUP. However it's been many years since the ON government has granted any application for a new LUP. That's why existing LUP's are valued so high. The only other option available for a new camp is on native territory. That's what Eddie North did when he opened his camp on the Attawapiskat River 3 years ago. Struck a deal with the natives in Lansdowne House...
  21. I'd love to hear the full story behind that comment.
  22. I don't love Charlie's show, don't hate it either. I just wish he wouldn't be such a blatant shill, but then that's the nature of the industry I guess. The only show I've really enjoyed in recent years was Mark Krupa's. But that's a direct result of the destinations he travelled to and the genius of his camera man/producer Ihor Macijiwsky. Macijiwsky is imo a master in his field.
