  1. Not mechanically inclined Rene, but does this help? http://www.learnsmallenginerepair.com/Tilotson_s.htm
  2. I've got the ultimate diet, I swear. Give yourself over to me completely for 3 months and I'll have you in better shape than an olympic athlete. The secret? Paddle and portage for several hundred km's, drink nothing but water and eat a diet comprising almost entirely of fish that you've caught. 1 month and you'll be in the same shape you were in at 20. 2 months and you'll be hard as rock, strong with good stamina. 3 months and you're in olympic calibre shape. I'd be happy to help anyone out if you'll pay for my time.
  3. Very sorry to hear this, deepest condolences.
  4. Brother, anyone that can laugh at that kind of misfortune is alright in my books . Good story!
  5. Considering the conditions that's pretty impressive, congrat's!
  6. Bud, my hat is off to you. Anybody that drives through that kind of weather for a crack at the Saugeen is diehard!
  7. Unbelievable guys, you told me you caught some bigger ones but that's truly incredible! Congrat's!
  8. Ahh, life in the great white north! Great recap bud, thanks for posting.
  9. Nice recap Mike, congrat's on a great year!
  10. Awesome bud, you won't be sorry! On a side note I picked up some trout sized plastic egg clusters down in NY that might work for molds. Cliff will drop them off for you. Cheers
  11. I look over at Solopaddler and he's there chuckling at me....he said that that would have made the fishing trip to him seeing me swimming...nice guy eh? He's just bitter because I outfished him! I better enjoy this, cause it'll never happen again...LOL. LOL!, yeah that WAS kinda funny almost seeing you get blown into the water, HAHAHA! What are you made of, paper mache? Now that I see the true Cliff, the uber competitive step in front of you to get the prime drift Cliff, I'll know better for the next time. Fear not it's game on buddy, I'll ramp it up on the next outing! (Seriously, it was a fun day nonetheless, you're a good man.)
  12. Somewhat surprised that one hasn't been taken in Mongolia where they're known to reside, but I guess Siberia's not too much different. Worlds largest salmonid, and what's truly amazing about these fish is the small shallow rivers they inhabit. Definitely one of my dream trips would be flyfishing for these beasts... Anyhow check this out, an excerpt from the I.G.F.A. newsletter:
  13. I'm guessing you mean the road north of Matagami in QC? I'm practically drooling at the thought of heading up there! . Don't know much about either the Harricanaw or Kapiscau, you'd pretty much be going blind on those trips, but then those kinds of trips are the most fun (at least for me). I do know for a fact the upper Kapiscau has large resident brook trout. I think it would be an incredible river to paddle!
  14. It seems this topic constantly comes up . Anyhow, if you're talking strictly about winter fishing in freezing temps, nothing will keep you as warm as a good pair of bootfoot neoprenes. Nothing. That's "bootfoot" NOT stockingfoot, boots are attached to the waders. In freezing temps they'll keep your feet infinitely warmer than stocking foot waders with wading boots. Bootfoot breathables are also a great option. You've got the boots to keep your feet warm and can layer up underneath for the rest. Also they're a good option for warmer weather and if you'll be doing any amount of walking. I'll stress again though, if it's for ice cold water only and you're not going to be doing a huge amount of walking nothing is as warm as bootfoot neoprenes. Also, keep in mind to dress properly with some kind of decent baselayer, a layer of fleece, then something breathable on the outside. That combined with a nice warm toque will do wonders for keeping you warm. Most of your bodies heat is lost from your head... A bit pricey, but the best bootfoot neo's available are made by Bare. They will last a lifetime however (unlike breathables). Cheers
  15. I know for a fact that someone else wrote the script for that website, those words and a lot of the photos don't belong to Twin Lakes. In fact you can find a lot of the same stuff rehashed on a bunch of other outfitters sites... Wouldn't be too quick to condemn the guy, although he undoubtedly gave the okay for whatever content is there.
  16. Hey, glad I can help ease your pain . It's not looking great weather wise for the foreseeable future though, won't be long before the rivers are all locked up anyway. Don't fret over not being able to fish, just worry about your studies. If I could turn back the clock that's what I'd be doing.... Cheers
  17. Yep, I've personally recorded wind gusts up to 46 knots at work today...
  18. Tired of being harrassed by panhandlers on your way to the office? Do those annoying kids with the squeegees drive you nuts when you're stopped at a red light? No problem! Just give us a call here at The Bud Light Institute and we'll be happy to release a pack of ravenous marrauding black bears straight from Ontario's north country to clean them up!! (I have this crystal clear mental image that's just cracking me up)
  19. We flew into their Saga Lake camp a couple of years ago. Booked with them strictly because of price, they were much cheaper than everywhere else. I've come to learn over the years that as far as fly-in camps go you get what you pay for. If you're not concerned about the accomodations and boats/motors and basically just want a roof over your head and only care about the fishing then go for it, 'cause the fishing was very good. The cabins and equipment are a bit run down though... If I ever flew with them again I'd try one of the camps on Abamasagi. It's got 3 camps on it, but it's a huge, beautiful clear lake. Mostly walleye and pike but it's also got lake trout which is somewhat uncommon for that region. We landed on Aba on the way to our camp to drop off something and I was very impressed with the lake. It's also a very cheap trip (short flight). Any other questions shoot me a pm. Cheers
  20. The bigger fish in part 2? LOL! That's incredible Cliff, you and Carole are really on to something there.
  21. Thanks boys, and Cliff, keep your fingers crossed that the weather cooperates this week!
