  1. Very sorry to hear, I can relate. Deepest condolences.
  2. It wasn't too shallow when I was there, but then there's no such thing as too shallow when you're really motivated. Most of the lake was shallow, but certain areas (where the creek flows in) weren't. None were big, 1-2lb's, maybe a handful 3ish, but quadruple headers non stop.
  3. I fished Nettogami a number of years ago, stayed at the peninsula camp. It was "okay". Not spectacular but very good. What was spectacular was Piyagoskogau lake which we were easily able to navigate into via the river at the north end of Nettogami. A short ways up it splits. The left fork wasn't navigable but the right fork was. Very scenic boat ride as well. TONS of walleye, ridiculous amounts actually. Here's a map to show what I'm talking about: beerman I've fished Yesterday as well if you want some info... Cheers, Mike
  4. Yep, yep. The only seasons y'all need to worry about are salt and pepper!
  5. Nice going bud! (gotta bide the time somehow 'till the rivers open up )
  6. Lucky sod, and just in time for the warm weather here as well LOL! Where'd you stay? Jo and I stayed at the Melia Cayo Coco and loved it.
  7. Nice fish bud! Not surprising either, I've always found the full moon in Feb to be a pretty good bite. (One more day and hopefully I can finally get a few of my own when I head north )
  8. This is the type of problem I can only hope I'm having with my own son when he's your age. Don't sweat it kid and keep listening to your parents!
  9. Actually catch and release fishing has a strong following over here. Virtually no one keeps all the fish they catch. When fish are kept the popular term is selective harvest.
  10. Nice fish! You're almost tempting me to hit Simcoe today....almost. (leaving shortly to fish some softwater).
  11. Yep that'd be the Johnny Larue weight loss program LOL! (For those that don't know a character John Candy played on SCTV )
  12. Losing weight and keeping it off is a simple equation, there are no miracle answers: burn more calories than you take in. You're already exercising. Keep it up and modify your diet and you'll lose weight. A bit more muscle mass (weight training) will help keep off the pounds with less effort.
  13. I've got a bunch of U.L.'s, 51/4' 1pc IMX, 5' 2PC GL3, 6' 2pc HMG/AV, and a bunch of other cheaper ones. My favourite by far is a 7' 2pc St. Croix Avid rated 2-6lb test (model#AS70ULM2). The extra length is great to have compared to traditional shorty U.L.'s and the Avid is a pretty sweet rod. Highly recommended.
  14. You may have to fish a bit with artificials until you're able to harvest a fish with eggs for yourself.
  15. Not exactly true. The man can fish.......a bit.
  16. When I first started dating my wife she was really into it, I used to go skiing with her all the time. Never had any lessons but I was a natural and managed quite well, 'till one day when my overconfidence got the best of me. We were at Ellicotville (or Alcoholville as I liked to call it ) and I somehow ended up at the brink of their black diamond trying to decide yay or nay. It was pure ice, no powder and peppered with nasty little humps and bumps. Not even the experienced skiers were attempting it. I figured....why not? Anyone remember the opening shots on Wide World Of Sports where they show that clip of Todd Brooker (or was it Podborski?) crashing at Kitzbuhel where he goes cartwheeling end over end? Well that was me . That was the last time I ever went downhill skiing LOL! (No relevance whatsoever to your question, but just thought I'd throw that in there )
  17. They're incredible, hopefully you got the right size though. I normally wear size 11 in boots but had to go to a 13 in these ones. If you're sitting still all day try putting the toe warmer in the small pocket integrated into the boot liners. You won't believe how warm your feet will be.
  18. I wear these boots, they're unreal: http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...&hasJS=true
  19. Hey, you didn't finally buy that piece of property now did you? (Regardless, I'm sure whatever you do you'll succeed at. ). To answer the question I work at the weather office in Hamilton.
