  1. I've had a Toro and it was great, lasted a long time. Currently have a Honda self propelled and it's the best mower I've ever used.
  2. Well done my friend. Kind of bizarre that the tables are turned and you're fishing and I'm not. (nice rod btw )
  3. Thanks for posting the link. Truly appreciate the offer, thanks.
  4. An odd post. Don't most people ask you where they should be fishing? If you're interested in brook trout I know a great outfitter with exclusive rights in QC just north of Deep River and the Ottawa river. Cheap prices and a quality fishery. Shoot me a pm if you want the info.
  5. Now the entire world knows your antics. Looking forward to seeing it.
  6. It wasn't really you Dan, and I'm sorry if you thought it was directed at you. I'm guessing you didn't read the whole thread. If your brother and you ever do want to go drop me a line and I'll set something up. Take care
  7. She's been in the backyard all day while I've been working in the front. Just went back to grab the hose 'cause I want to spray some nematodes before the sod is layed. What can I say? She got bored and chewed my hose up. Off to Home Depot now....
  8. Okay I'm going to reply to this. It boggles my mind how some people always feel the need to express their opinion especially when it's pointless. Their is absolutely no way no how I'd be transporting invasive species from wild trees from a bush lot up north. Of course their is a remote possibility. There's also a remote possibility that I'll win the lottery and get struck by lightning. What makes you think nursery stock is "safer" than wild stock from the bush? If anything nursery stock is exposed to more possible invasive species. Do you guys realize that half our nurseries sell stock that's not even grown here? It's coming from warmer climates south of the border. I'll gladly take the "chance" that my wild stock will be safe. And why exactly would I want to contact some half baked government agency for their permission? Seriously. Come tax time next year I think I'll contact the IRS so they can scrutinize me more closely. Heaven forbid I do anything that might be construed as illegal. I've said it before. If some of you guys have nothing worthwhile to add you should keep your opinion opinion to yourself and think twice before you click the reply button. (Note: I just finished spreading 6 yards of topsoil. Sod is being delivered tomorrow morning. My dog just chewed up my hose so I have nothing to water with. I'm tired, I'm hot and I'm in a foul mood. )
  9. Both slots have been filled, thanks everyone!
  10. Lou I'm guessing you have a copy of this? I don't get WFN and would love to see it.
  11. Drew it's always been a hassle at least for me getting anyone to commit to a fly in, nevermind a group of 6. Most people once they're committed aren't going to drop out. Most outfitters Eddie included require a deposit to hold a booking. So waiting in the hopes that someone might be able to make it is not a good idea. Wish you were coming, we'd have a blast.
  12. My guess is you'll be fine. Looking forward to a report!
  13. Thanks a bunch guys! I'll go with coloured mortar for sure.
  14. So anyway as soon as frost season is over I'm going to lay a bunch of porcelain tile made to look like slate outside. I'm a rank amateur when it comes to this and have been offered a lot of different opinions. The options for grout are obvious: sanded, unsanded or epoxy. I initially thought epoxy grout as it's supposedly impervious to the elements but had a few people steer me away from it as it's difficult to work with. I guess most people use a standard sanded grout outdoors, but obviously it's not a perfect solution for outside work. Someone recently told me for outdoor work he uses the same mortar used to lay the tiles (with keralastic additive) as grout. He mixes colorant into the mortar to get the color he wants. Says it's 1000X more durable than sanded grout for outdoor use. Can anyone out there confirm what he's saying? Not much info on the net if you google this. Thanks guys. Don't want to make a costly mistake here.
  15. Sorry Wayne no sympathy from me. The marina on my lake in N/W Quebec has averaged $2 a litre for the last 3 years. Cash only, no credit. It's owned by bikers and you don't want to mess with them. I made the mistake once of buying gas there. Never again. Now I'm forced to drive into town and fill a bunch of jerry cans. Huge pita.
  16. Never heard of either. The rod seems bizarre, heavy with double foot guides and a foam grip. Surprisingly it has S.I.C. guides though. Still not enough to sway me into that purchase. My guess is this rod/reel is mostly sold for light Saltwater use in the States. Buy something name brand with warranty.
  17. Thanks bud. I can get them locally for less than that. I'm trying to avoid having to sell another float reel here LOL! Sounds like a plan. How much do you usually tip a cow in your neck of the woods? Up here it's usually 20% if they give up the good milk.
