  1. Fantastic Art. Will you take them in trade for some snipe? You have to come up here and hunt them though. They're wily.
  2. I'll pass on the poplar bud. If you have any Acer palmatum, Tsuga canadensis, Pieris japonica or Chamaecyparis pisifera I'm all ears.
  3. You were funny at first, now you're just tiresome. First off you're way off base here. There is zero chance that what you're suggesting would be an issue. Second I'm not made of money. We're not talking about "a couple of dollars" here. Try a minimum of $600 probably more. Sometimes people really need to keep their opinions to themselves.
  4. As a matter of fact my background is in horticulture and forestry. I've worked for the Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton, run a garden center and for a while owned my own landscape business. I had to read that twice before I got it.
  5. Yep. Everyone knows that native cedars play host to all manner of vile and dangerous invasive species.
  6. Although being possibly the most common native tree in southern ON, they're an unfathomably deadly bio-hazzard. I'm well aware of the risks involved.
  7. Thanks Albert but that method won't cut it. (pun intended ) I've heard people say that, but it's never really been a problem for me. We had cedar hedges at both of our previous places in Dundas and Grimsby. I'd rather look at a wall of green than my neighbours backyard.
  8. It's a damn shame you can't swing the time off! Seems to be a common theme although I'm sure the short notice doesn't help. Thanks for the heads up on the plastic baits. I'm good though. I've been tweaking, tinkering and accumulating gear for this trip since last September LOL! Don't think I've ever been quite as ready for a trip as I am for this one.
  9. This is a real long shot on my part, but does anyone own land that's swampy with a lot of cedars? I'm looking to rip a couple hundred small ones (3-4') out bare root to plant a hedge. I did it at our old place and had a great hedge in about 4 years.. My source back then is no longer with us now unfortunately. Can maybe offer up something interesting in trade. (Guiding services perhaps? ). Thanks guys
  10. I don't come cheap. Living in Barrie I'm going to guess you must be a friend of Dougs? Too bad Mike, would have loved to have you join us. On the bright side your lures will be well represented up there this spring. They'll be put to the test.
  11. The ice in the river won't be long before it's out Dan. The only issue is the ice at the airbase in Nakina. It'll be out by then.
  12. Too bad Rob, it would've been great if you could make it. I'm sure we'll all bask in the glow of your video too, no doubt. As mentioned Rick the main camp on the Attawapiskat river. (Beteau. Richter is not on the Attawapiskat. ) No worries about ice. If anyone has a good excuse not to go and also a real need for a trip like this it's you Wayne. On another note for those who don't know, there is unlimited use of both satellite phone and internet at the camp. A couple guys had expressed interest but were worried about being cut off from civilization for various reasons.
  13. They're mostly pen reared escapees. The north channel swarms with them. Nice catch rod caster, looks like a fun weekend.
  14. You only live once. Too bad Andy, bad timing. A wedding? I'd bail on that for sure unless it was mine. Still, someone I asked can't go because of a Gordon Lightfoot concert on the long weekend. (Oh Gord... ) Priorities gentlemen, priorities. Just go for it Terry. Whatever's transpired in the last week can't be that important. Easy now, you're going to scare everyone away!
  15. Wrong. He calls himself Osama Bin Snaggen now and lives in Mississauga. Him and his cohorts love to fish the Credit River.
  16. My group is slated to fish Eddie's main camp on the Attawapiskat river May 21-28. Driving up on Friday the 20th, back (weather permitting) very late Sat night May 28. We're the first group in camp this year and with this years water levels the trophy pike fishing will be as good as it gets. Quite unexpectedly 2 members of our group of 6 were forced to cancel recently. I've asked just about everyone I can think of with no interest so figured I'd post this publicly. If anyone's interested in joining let me know! Obviously 2 people that know each other would be best, but we can pair up two singles if need be. Price is $1200 Canadian tax in for the week. Cheers
  17. Well they aint Superior fish. I think I know that spot. Man oh man I need to get out badly.
  18. Really outstanding boys, well done. Those look like Huron strain fish.
  19. Kind of puts all the other recent trivial petty posts to shame. Very nice gesture Nancy.
