  1. 12-15 friends that each require a separate bedroom? That almost certainly would require multiple cottages. As far as a recommendation I can give you all kinds within 5 hours of the GTA. Each and every one will have marginal fishing. If you go once a year just drive to Nakina and be done with it. You'll catch stupid numbers of fish. PM me if you're willing to drive 13 hours.
  2. Huh, guess I'm dealing with the wrong retailers. As far as upgrading the rod, I havn't done that. But assuming it's a 1 piece rod I have had my broken rods replaced with a different model, (broken 1pc 4-8lb Avid, replaced with new 1pc 4-10lb Avid)
  3. centerpinangling.com carries the round gremlin shot you like bud. Cheap prices and fast shipping.
  4. No such thing unfortunately. Any tackle shop that carries St. Croix would certainly ship the broken rod back to St. Croix for you. I've done a few times over the years with at least 3 different stores. Then you wait for the replacement rod to be mailed.
  5. Outstanding, glad to see you finally got to see first hand what the drift boat experience is like. That truly is a beautiful river. Intimidating is the word that pops to mind and truly steelheading at its best.
  6. Hey, big congrat's to Jeff, nice win!
  7. That is super cool! I used to fish a similar pattern in a Haliburton lake in Oct back in the day. Chapleau is a long way to go, but for fishing like that totally worth it. Would love to ice fish your lake.
  8. Yeah, not happening on Great Bear. My buddy Dave has trolled deadbaits bigger than 6lbs up there LOL!
  9. You're a bit too high brow, might to dumb it down a bit. I have no idea myself what you're referring to.
  10. It's been discussed before: http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=49494&st=0&p=534038&hl=fluorocarbon&fromsearch=1entry534038
  11. Awesome dude! He's a giant isn't he? That's one big toddler.
  12. Good one. Every time I use fancy words like that I feel like Niles Crane.
  13. They are most certainly not. Potamadromous they are however.
  14. Joanne's been bugging me for days to put up the lights. No time 'cause I've been fishing. This is so ironic you posted this. I'm going to email her this pic right now and ask her if that meets her satisfaction.
  15. I'll be watching this post with interest as I had the same question. I'm bringing the family down 3rd week in January. If you're going later in the winter I can give you some first hand info.
  16. Thanks guys, glad you liked! Totally forgot dude, sorry! It's right here. A bit of wind noise, and a little shaky, but not bad. Fidel was just a bit excited here. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/V2VEeZ4KBwc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  17. When I read the title I figured you meant the bass in the tank at Bass Pro. Couldn't figure out why they'd be so hard to find. Nice tank bass.
  18. So are you guys implying that cops look like porn stars? Not the ones in my neighbourhood.
  19. Me too! The use of burl cork on the entire handle is another huge cost cutting measure. Because really fine natural cork is next to impossible to source, many manufacturers are utilizing the manmade stuff. It's much cheaper and readily available. It is much grippier than pure cork, but it's also substantially heavier. Anyhow, that all said I had an opportunity to check out the Rapala float rod, and it's surprisingly light and not droopy in the tip at all.
  20. It is to save on cork. Why do you think it's all the rage now with so many manufacturers? The fact that people like it is a gigantic bonus. Price out some fluoro grade cork just for fun. Or better yet try and find some period. Rod manufacturers have adapted to the situation.
  21. Gotta stay on the cutting edge Brian, or you'll be left behind in the dust.
  22. Right on man, it's pretty slick stuff for sure.
