Cant beat shimano for those prices. shimanos low end rods and reels IMO are better then most in the same price ranges. isnt the new shimano voltaeus in the 50.00 range? supposed to be like an ugly stick but lighter.

I hope you have a better attitude then those kids that work there. everytime i ask a question i get 2 different answers or i get "ya" or "no" are you getting any more power pro in soon? ya .......ok when? dunno,soon. the older guys there are great. dont care for the younger guys.

I bought a Seahawk 400 last summer at walmart for something like 100.00 give or take. and got out on it 4 or 5 times last summer and loved it. I have thought about a trolling motor for it,but then figuring the costs of the motor,battery,charger,mount kit...the costs started to add up so i still have to paddle. and like someone had said, it indeed feels like navigating a bath tub,which is the only real downfall. but it beats fishing from shore or having to sit on a canoe.

To add a little bit of optimism ,at least our 3rd round pick will be good haha. and form what ive heard,next years draft is supposedly the worst or most shallow draft in years to come,so losing that 1st round pick may not be so terrible. also i was told that dave nonis said "we will be suprised how low the leafs will pick this year" so im going to assume some deal is in the works for a lower pick/trade this draft. i just hope they trade kaberle for a top forward (center) and not a pick.

This. I like burke. and i think he has done a great job having to fix the years for crap JFJ has created. we are or were up to this year i believe still paying for raycroft and tucker. as for tyler and taylor does anyone remember pat faloon or yashin? im not saying that will happen with those 2,but one never knows. and kessel is already proven to be a 30+ a year scorer

I remember when i was a kid maybe 12 - 14 i used to watch canadian sport fishing all the time,i couldnt get enough of that show and i remember always wanting a canadian sport fishing spring jacket. (i thought they looked cool) somewhere i got out of fishing and stopped watching the shows and have almost forgotten completely about that one altogether. here we are years later and not even a week ago i came across Italo on youtube jigging for walleye in thunder bay i think. and after watching it i thought it was probably the most informative fishing video that i had seen in a long time. i dont watch these shows on tv because it seems to me more about hotdogging and screaming about all the huge fish they are catching one after another and less about technic etc. Italo explained exactly what he was doing and why he was doing it. I wish i had that info years ago when i first started fishing for walleye. I dont know him nor have i met him,but for people starting out i think he is a great place to start. a funny note tho, my dad used to tell me i was wasting my time with fishing shows because they probably have some guy hooking fish under the boat for them, i guess he wasnt very wrong about it if what y'all say is true haha. anyways to the OP, i hope you had fun,i know i would have loved to be in your shoes and probably would have learned alot.

Im a bit biased here, i have not tried any other braid but power pro. i wanted to use braid 2 years ago and it was recommended that i try power pro and ive been a very happy camper since. cant say enough good about it and no reasons to try anything else. im sure the other brands listed are good as well, but i have no experience with them.

Since the oylimpic break the leafs have been helping mtl,bos,etc get into play offs by beating teams they shouldnt have. it wont matter if mtl makes it or not, they will make a 1st round exit,and so will ottawa(who are play off flops every year. see you all on the golf course signed: the leafs

I think "hawk eyes" would be put to better use if he were taking pictures and calling MNR for person or persons who are blantantly doing something unlawful like showing up with buckets and filling them with OOS fish,throwing gernades into the water ect. IMO taking pics or calling anyone because YOU do not like the lure being used is spineless and uncalled for. even if someone is fishing for pike a day or 2 early i wouldnt care. i have caught walleye using a top water frog. should i expect hawk eyes to take my picture and call the MNR because i should only use the frog for bass? im also not against anyone who takes a pic of an OOS fish that was caught accidently. sorry but if i am fishing for pike in may and catch a 6 pound bass,you can bet your ass im taking a pic of it.

These are all really good suggestions guys. i have my first baby due at the end of april so im not sure how many times i'll get our for walleye when season opens but i'll be trying im sure lol i only C&R so binbrook will have no problems with me. i'll keep my eyes open for the val pac

binbrook conservation eh? i was told by several people that its mostly crappie fishing and to even get a bass is a total bonus these days. if it holds walleye i might try there,thanks.

I tried the dam last year. im not a good river fisherman. unless its close to still or very slow moving water. i cast my jig in and with in 4 seconds it has already traveled down stream up close to the shore line the little pools off to the side were being fished heavily.

Since walleye and pike season is almost here im looking for some locations,ponds,lakes,rivers where i can hook into some walleye. but not interested in lake ontario. i dont have a boat and not a fan of elbow to elbow fishing. id like to go to some places i havent tried before. just getting tired of the same old places and every year more and more people find out these spots and it becomes elbow to elbow and crossed lines. it would be great to find something within hamilton... any suggestions would be great. if someone is into trading spot ideas thats no problem either

This HAS to be a rod or reel issue cause nics or cuts. i use 20 and now 30lb power pro and never had any issues with it. ever. i have even pulled in a tree log. even broke a rod before the line.i cant say enough good things about it, would be nice if it were cheaper

i dont see lesner turtle in that clip? unless you think turtle means avoid the stand straight up and get boxed in the face? lesner like gsp want the fight on the ground and stand up is there weak point. expect lesner to want the carwin fight on the ground asap,or end up acting like a hotshot like mir, and we saw how that turned out.

LOL, 50% "sucks" wow talk about sour grapes. to be honest i was pretty sure gsp would win,but i gave a good chance to hardy who everyone here and on my facebook counted out, and not only counted him out they had him out in round 1 or 2. hardy will be back and his ground game and take down defence will be better. gsp fight came to quickly for hardy. btw i not only predicted carwin win,but they way he won,and i said gsp/hardy would go to the judges. not bad!!!! eat it.

well, not too bad, gsp/hardy was boring, gsp dominated hardy on the ground but barely put a bruise on him. went to the judges and not 1st round TKO's like 90% of the planet predicted. carwin wins ground n pound ref stoppage.

I have been following the ufc back when gracie was running it and my pick percentage is pretty good. i am a fan of both hardy and GSP so the outcome will not upset me, but because everyone has GSP to win, i am picking Hardy to win. i think he is under-rated big time. but GSP is smart. this one will go to the judges and it will be a split decision for Dan Hardy. Mir and carwin is another tough call,but im going to give it to carwin. i think it will be a ground n pound stoppage by the referee. mir wants brock so bad and is on a tear and even put on the pounds,but his focus on brock looking past carwin will be his downfall, plus carwin has a good chin.

to be honest a big reason why i do not target carp is because its more of a sit n wait type of fishing. i prefer jigs,spinners and top water action. only when truly bored do i bust out the bobber n worm set ups. even tho one carp i caught was hooked on a spoon.

LOL that 2nd last carp looks like barney gumble or something, it looks drunk....and ugly. ive caught about 4 carp maybe 5 in my life,none really gave me a "good fight" all were in the 10lb range. Although i still have many people tell me stories about hard fighting carp. they're just too ugly for me
